Up until recently, I still agreed that you should be a NRA member. But there's just been too much stuff come out. The tipping point for me was some news about the CEO blowing a ton of money on BS
@hickok455 жыл бұрын
Everybody has to make his own mind up on things, based on whatever "knowledge" he or she thinks is real and not agenda-driven. I've seen WAY too many organizations (Major companies, U.S. Military, FBI, CIA, Secret Service, etc.) that have enough warts to warrant less or no support; however, I'm selfish and practical enough that I'll overlook quite a lot if a company or organization is important enough and actually protects my freedom. I'm not ready to "throw out the baby with the bath water." We badly NEED a strong NRA, and I'm still confident the NRA will work out the internal politics and such, which do not necessarily affect at all the essential work the ILA does. We need to improve the NRA, not write it off. Duh, why did we just not close down the U.S. Military when several years back we learned about how they were paying several hundred dollars for a hammer, as well as other scandals? Why? Because the mission is more important than the usual political crap that humans will always be guilty of, regardless of where they are. Anyway, that's my two cents worth.

Added better stippling to the grip of the 19, replaced the slides for ones with groves for better grip and replaced the triggers or had work done on them. My new FN 509 midsize straight out the box addressed all the things I and many others have changed on our Glocks for less money than the modifications. I retired my Glock for the first time in 20yrs to the safe one week after getting my new 509 and it’s now become my everyday carry. Glock should be paying attention because FN is giving you more for your money straight out the box and the CZ P-10 and Sig 320 & 365 are no slouch either, that’s for sure.

@@michigunsanta8680 doesn't have a good feeling in the hand, trigger isn't that great, safety isn't super positive and doesn't play nice with holsters, mags should be metal for sure, ammo cost for a round of this type in a form factor of this type are prohibitive. I love it in the PS90. Main reason though is because of the wide handle, it doesn't shoot as intuitively as my other platforms. My handguns of choice currently are the Walther PPQ 5" in 9mm, PPS M2, and the Colt 1911 .22. Many handguns (10 plus) have fell out of my rotation to get to those choices. I plan to add a CMMG .45 in for home defense with a GhostM, but I live in the sticks. I'm no longer a firearm collector, if it doesn't fit a niche need, it doesn't belong in the safe. Maybe you can open my eyes to other uses for it that justify keeping it, but it fills no need other than to maybe possibly defeat IIIA body armor, in which case, the scar and PS90 will shred that armor without paying $2.00/rd.

Hey hickok45 I love your channel and thank you for what you do. 1st I do own both the standard 509 and the tactical. I love them both but I did experience an unfortunate rare instance where the firing pin on my 509 broke. I do not understand how it broke just that it did break. My case might be an isolated incident but I just had to let you know. I can provide pictures of the firing pin. I have yet to contact fn about the pistol because I've been busy. I still love the firearm and I do not believe (but hope) this will happen again. I just wanted to let you know.
