My doctor bullied me onto Statins against my will, and I developed diabetes and cataracts. I suffered along for several years before I fired my doctor and dumped ALL of the prescription drugs he put me on. Three months later and I am feeling much better! Happy to hear you were able to free yourself of these vices. It's interesting that you were worried about cbd in particular since it's non psychoactive and very health promoting in various ways. I've even heard Dr. Axe recommend it before but I'm sure you had your reasons and ideals. How did you go about coming off the kratom? I have an issue with it myself. I've had some sort of autoimmune or adrenal fatigue or something for over 10 years. I discovered kratom and it changed my life however it became a crutch for daily life functions and I'm super addicted to it despite most people have no problem quitting it. I can hardly function without it now unfortunately. I'm sure as with everything there are "bad" things it might cause when used as much as I do but I'd imagine there's much worse ways to deal with my issues or worse substances I could have chosen to use. Atleast it's nothing more than a ground leaf not oxytocin or whatever. However I'd like to free myself of it sooner than later. I tried cold turkey for 3 days and it was horribly hard and I couldn't hardly do a thing. I had to go back to work and had no choice but to use it again. Curious how bad you were with it and how you came off it?

I was new to caregiving when I cared for my grandparents through their final years, but now looking back I can see that many of their medical issues were due to their medications. 😢 I was so naive during most of that time that I thought the doctors were "helping" us, and perhaps some of them were still well meaning back then. When I first started helping them, the first thing I questioned was that my Grandma was taking two extra strength Tylenol three times a day, despite the fact that she was not in any noticeable pain. I did at least have the presence of mind to start backing off on those. Even at that time we knew large doses of Tylenol are harmful. Something that was likely a huge part of my grandfather's decline was the fact that he was on Flomax. He was having weak spells every single day and fell on an almost daily basis, sometimes getting injured very seriously. At this point, of course, I had to leave my job to be home with them full time.

Very insightful, especially at the end with other remedies. I used to be low fat, high carb+daily Aspirin for distance running but somehow got fat anyway. My doctor 8 years ago put me on a high fat diet with Vitamin D in the morning and ZMA at night. I forgot, took both at night, and had sleep problems. Took Vitamin D in the morning and everything turned around. Truth is, cholesterol in the diet doesn’t equate to cholesterol in the blood. Increasing fat and cholesterol in my diet along with trading distance running for moderate volume resistance training decreased my body fat and LDL. Eat fat, get skinny.

I believed that taking a hypertension drug was the easy way to deal with that issue, then my best friends’ grandfather spoke some wisdom to me and I could not get what he said out of my mind. I was really traumatized by what he said to the extent that I could not sleep. He was extremely healthy and he was 98 when he died, but his very words had an impact on me to this very day and probably for the rest of my life. By the way, I no longer need that hypertension pill or any other, they only cover up the symptoms. I am all about eating healthy foods and exercise.

I’ve been made fun of, looked at sideways etc. the side effects lists alone have always made me question it. Why would I trade one thing for another and what else is it doing to me? As a young woman I told myself I would not subject myself to the “I’ll be old in a wheelchair and taking medications” life that people expect. Nope. I will try all other alternatives and lifestyle changes before I use a medicine. And I always say if a drug is needed why would we advertise. And if there is a budget for advertising cut the cost of the med and don’t advertise… 🤔 I despise the use of marketing which is a play on the mind when it comes to this. Some prescriptions help, especially for thyroid disease. You cannot live without thyroid hormone.. diet changes don’t always fix these issues. As Dr. Elizabeth Bright said, “you will likely be on thyroid hormone for life, unless you go live on an island with zero stress.” I eat organ meat, red meat, pasture raised farm fresh food, zero processed foods and I am still needing thyroid hormone.

I .can write a book and a series of books about people I know. Seen the "industry" absolutely destroy many lives- even almost mine. One of my firsts prescriptions was Oxycontin. Seen my mom.die with a prescribed Fetanyl patch. Watched brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles,.cousins fight to control their lives while on meds that made it impossible. Seen destruction. Many times. When they roled out the c-v1d vacsine I knew it was not for our health but for profit.

Please read Dr Wahls book. She was a conventional doctor debilitated by MS. She then became a functional medicine practitioner in her journey to heal herself. I have lupus but have learned that autoimmune is autoimmune. It’s diet, toxin exposure and also nutrient deficiencies.

👍Thank you Dr Josh Axe for another awesome informational video. ♥️👏 Greetings from Singapore. Other than into Immunolgy and Gerontology research work in Asia, I have also taken an interest in working on traditional medicinal healing (alternative natural "real foods as healthfoods). The problems with Prescriptive drugs go beyond causing hormonal and endocrine imbalances and dysfunction, and even much of our modern day supplements contain more than one needed formula of that specific dose and ingredient content within the supplement itself. In pill form, be it capsule or tablet, it may come with artificial fillers, high heat treated, cornstarch or gluten-based capsuled shells and even microplastics and heavy metals. What we have seen from our findings are the healthier seniors, elders and also the centenarians go "pill-less", by adopting a lifestyle with natural wholesome diet on small, light and simple meal(s), eschewing highly processed packaged snacks and foods.

What do you think about thyroid medication like levothyroxine? I've been on Levothyroxine since December 2022 and my docs are lowering or increasing my dose according lab results and not running the full panel. My western doctor says for hypothyroidism/ Hashimoto's. The same doctor who put me on it tested me for calcium very recently and it’s low. Help! Thanks for the podcasts/videos.
