@74 Rowe Did you see that guy, the former "Dr." Sean Baker, who went carnivore for one year, and his blood test showed a lowered testosterone? ... While the vegan blood test for "Happy Healthy Vegan" showed a way above average testosterone?
@californiaplant-basedeater27612 жыл бұрын
@74 Rowe I'm fairly certain there isn't a single study in the universe that claims soy raises estrogen in men. For women, pre-menopausal, I read soy can act like an anti-estrogen. For post-menopausal, when the estrogen levels are very low, soy can raise estrogen a bit, I am reading. For men it is just a tad different. I didn't finish reading so look it up yourself, as you seem to be going on a hearsay basis when you've never seen an actual study (SURPRISE! What you read was an advertisement, not a study. Libel against soybeans via carefully crafted, selective truths and maybes isn't a crime but it should be.). ... Offhand I would say that the very minimal effects on men are so because they aren't enough to overpower the testosterone. MTF transgendered people can't just take estrogen. They have to take anti-testosterone, then add in estrogen. And as men have so low estrogen levels already, adding something with very low levels isn't going to be a cumulative effect. It can be for women only when the natural count is very low, but it only raises the count back up to normal, not above and beyond. This is my understanding but look it up yourself if you want more specificity.
@californiaplant-basedeater27612 жыл бұрын
@74 Rowe Well be careful if you are serious. "Dr." Sean Baker told himself he was doing exactly that. A year later, his testosterone was next to nothing.

Eating or drinking straight soy is bad for your skin as well. I was researching on how to reduce breakouts because I was having stress acne and it says to cut soy from diets. The only soy I do consume is the fermented kind, which isn’t nearly as dangerous as straight soy, and even then I use it sparingly. The fact of the matter is, soy is used in menopause treatments as an estrogen replacement. That should tell you what it does to the male body.

This video on soy is making me lactate When soy is not fermented, it’s considered an anti-nutrient. This means it has certain enzyme blockers that block the absorption of proteins. It also has phytic acid that blocks important minerals. You might think you don’t consume a lot of soy, but it’s actually hidden in a lot of different foods. It’s in a lot of vegetable oils, and it’s even in a lot of the different protein bars and diet shakes. Soy is also hiding in a lot of vegetarian meats. Infant formulas are mainly soy-based, which can create a bad situation for a baby. Soy can have: • An estrogenic effect • An anti-nutrient effect • A GMO effect Thank you Dr Berg!

Your information about the soy powders and soy protein isolate and texturized soy protein is very good information. However,I don’t know what you’re talking about with most of the soy being GMO. That is untrue. most of the tofu, Tempeh, soy milk that you find in grocery stores these days clearly says on the front “non-GMO“ or “organic“. That means it has not been raised and sprayed excessively with pesticides like Roundup. That has beenThe problem with soy: the round up chemicals contain Xenoestrogens which are artificial chemical estrogens that are harmful to the body. However the non-GMO/organic soy has protective PHYTO estrogens and is very very healthy for the body. These Phytoestrogens have chemicals called isoflavones which are protective against breast, prostate, and other cancers.Please correct this because people are listening to you. You failed to mention any of the incredibly good benefits of soy and the Japanese population and how healthy they have been in the past before fast food. On the other hand you talk about bacon all the time and that is an incredibly unhealthy thing to eat. Cured meat has nitrosamines which are carcinogenic. I don’t know why you would want to promote meat over plants.Meats also have all of the estrogens from their feed and dairy of course is full of estrogens contained in the milk of nursing cows. It just doesn’t make sense to me that someone as knowledgeable as you about a lot of things would not see the error in eating meat and dairy. Thank you.

Firstly, phytic acid is found in all plant seeds, nuts, legumes and grains, especially in rice and wheat bran. Secondly, fermentation is not the only way to remove phytic acid. Soaking and sprouting also works. When there are soy in your food, they have probably gone through one of these processes. Lastly, the amount of soy in food is MINIMUM. So unless you’re just eating pure raw soy all day you’re not gonna have any of these issues. Please do some research before you fear another thing

I started taking Non-GMO soy isoflavones, 750 mg 2x a day for 3 weeks to try to combat hot flashes, night sweats, and irritability. Only ingredients were soy and the gelatin capsule, purest bottle I could find. However, even that had a bad effect on me. Not only did it not help, it increased my problems; my anger and anxiety are through the roof and I've had chest and side pains, headaches, nausea, heart palpitations. I read an online medical research publication that some women have gone into "hypertensive crisis" from taking this and had to seek emergency medical care! As of today, I've stopped taking it. I will keep seeking a safer solution to my problems that does not include soy.

Juseve AC that’s right. Condemning all soy is stupid. GMO soy was invented so they could douse it with Roundup pesticide! That’s why it’s bad, NOT BECAUSE SOY ON ITS OWN IS BAD!!! The soy protein isolate in processed food is different than eating sautéed tofu with your veggies or tempeh. Figure out the distinctions people!

@Lewis Blanchard Most of the world population, like nearly all asian countries, consumes soy on a regular basis. The men there do NOT lactate. Soy making you lactate is a myth that only exists within the US from youtubers pretending to be doctors like this guy. He has no sources.

I am not a vegan nor a vegetarian and to be honest I don't even know they're different, but I also lived in a country that consumes soy on regular basis also in various forms, but I never heard any health problems nor issue related to soy. it seems a bit weird that such an issue only happens in a western country.
@inbarshema5 жыл бұрын
That is because meat and dairy consumption is such a big part of American culture and government funding that they use fear monger if and cherry picked studies to display soy...

Dr berg. I keep seeing soy lecithin in everything. It's in my protein powder. I've cut out everything else with soy in it. Will abit of soy lecithin hurt me? I do have a thyroid body type so should I avoid it at all costs?

We should ,but I love tofu ,in about to buy organic soy beans sprout it to make tofu ,but I use oyster sauce.I have adrenal fatigue and high estrogen I have fibroid, I'm struggling on that .but I will sprout it first.

@Claudia M hi thank you for your comment because I never got to order the beans but yes I did already by the time I saw that video had already ordered a pack of 3 firm tofu .Not used still new must find who to offer then resort to the Burmese tofu as alternative. I make sourdough bread and or keto bread now also all my golden and flaxseed are standing by. I'm taking the Calcium D but I will use the flaxseed even if I must sprout it then add to my sourdough, that I will do.

Tempeh when organic is an excellent protein source that has many benefits. There is no such thing as a phytoestrogen, the key is you can only consume organic soy products.

It would really help if you cited some research when making statements like this. I'm believing even without the research so far, but if I get in an argument with a relative who just graduated with a degree in nutrition, I can't show the research. Soy seems to be the best friend of such graduates it seems, probably because they don't want to recommend getting protein from meat.

When Chinese eat unfermented soy (soymilk and soups), they typically eat it with plenty of salt. Salt helps denature the enzyme blockers and gives the phytic acid something to bind to
@annywei53232 жыл бұрын
No we don’t. Nobody put salt in soymilk. And tofu is NOT fermented. Tofu is made from fresh soy milk and some chemicals

All things in moderation. by the way, check the label on your fav. food there is soy in most can goods. Dominos has soy. Most bread has soy. Most all Chocolate has soy. There is a lot of pesticides in soy. Monsanto produces soy. Soy is in everything. Some people are highly allergic to soy. Some have problems with their digestive system because of soy.

It is so hard to trust anything online now. But yes organic tofu will be good. I do feel tofu might be better digestible too. I heard in a video of old Japanese woman. What I see everywhere is propaganda though. Time will tell. Who knows. Soy will turn our more dangerous tomorrow with more GMOs n unnatural ways. Everything in moderation was the way of God. Certain places consumed certain dishes more. I am not sure if this will be proven in long run on all. But yes it does make sense to stay in moderation. Soy is definitely not advised with thyroid medicines. God knows what one may find out tomorrow. Sometimes I feel more than science and all it's propaganda and studies, people will be real examples to speak. The population of this world is too big to guarantee something. A true healer should show moderation for sure. Processed Soy is junk too.
