I lived in Austin for 7 years & some of the best fishing I ever had was in Mid April on Lake Austin under 360 hwy bridge along golf coarse - 23 fish between 4 to 10.5 lbs in 2 hours 7:30 -9:30 am! Best day ever!

So I don't really EVER comment on youtube, but I feel like it would be just wrong of me not to give you a little thank you in the comments. I don't even fish, yet I've watched nearly all your videos. They're engaging, very human, well produced (seriously dude, studio quality editing and production), and you manage to squeeze things in that arent JUST about fishing - conversations with your friends, camping with MorningTide giving us a little interview, taking us into tackle shops, and even just little funny bloopers and clumsy moments as well as failures. I love that your videos aren't just a compilation of hook sets like many others are; theyre about not just fishing, its about the journey, the nature, the experience, friends... Anyways I'm rambling now but to sum it up - the quality of what you're producing on youtube is better than that of what I see on TV. From editing to little bits of cinematography.etc the work you're putting in is insane. I have a chronic illness and am mostly bedridden, as well as some extreme depression. Despite that, your videos have always put at least ONE smile on my face, so thank you

@Keefre6 жыл бұрын
Root River has public access by Quarry Park, Lincoln Park, and a few other parks along the Root. Just look at a map or the DNR website they should have the access spots listed. Quarry Park gets insanely busy during the weekends, so be weary of that. Pike River in Kenosha hasn't been as active for me, but have still seen plenty of fish swimming up the river. Mainly Chinooks. Same thing for public access on the pike try Petrifying Springs County Park, The bridges on County A, and the mouth of the river where it meets lake michigan. Either way, if you don't have some I highly suggest investing in waders. It really opens up a lot of oppurtunities

I`m originally from a small town an hour south of Chicago. I moved to the area 6 years ago and have worked in Austin ever since. I`ve driven by all of these places numerous time and didn`t give it any thought to fish the area. Well I hit up the Barton Creek area today and had a couple 2 pounders hit a texas rigged creature bait. Mind you the temps are in the low 50`s and still saw several 4-5 pound fish roaming the shore line. I`ve done the Google Map research on the other places and will be hitting those too. Thank you for the great videos and don`t be a stranger to Austin. FYI, still can`t find any good Chicago food here. lol
