In this video we share some hidden gems in Nebraska! When we first saw photos of Toadstool Geologic Park, we couldn't believe this was actually in Nebraska! We knew we had to put it on our route next time we were in the area and it did not disappoint. We also loved hiking at Scottsbluff National Monument.
Happy to share some great new spots with you guys!

I'm from eastern Nebraska, but have been to the panhandle a number of times. There's so much to see there. Most of the city folk from Omaha and Lincoln have never seen any of these places. Their typical drive west is I-80 to Denver and the Rocky Mountains. Many people from Omaha have never even seen the Sandhills. As someone else mentioned, the Wildcat Hills State Rec Area is a nice place to visit as well. When I show people pictures of the Yucca cacti, pine trees, and big rocky buttes, they never guess it's Nebraska. Thanks for sharing.

I’m from Scottsbluff and there are some more awesome spots tucked away in some private property off trail in the Wild Cat Hills! More sandstone erosion led to some beautiful formations similar to what we see 70% through this video but surrounded by beautiful forests. :) It was fun being brought home for a little while thanks! ❤️

Great video! I have that exact accordion T-shirt. I’m an accomplished accordionist and it drives me nuts that they printed it backwards. The keyboard is on the right side. 🪗 Looking forward to checking out western Nebraska all the way from South Sioux City. 🙂

Very nice video and if you are worried about air quality, you should look into getting an electric car. I know of a couple that has an airstream (about the size of yours) and pulled it with their Tesla Y for over 4000 miles without any issues.

Not quite clear when you talk about air quality. Scottsbluff area is approx. 5,000' ASL so yes, the air is thinner. Humidity is commonly low most of the year. You could have been getting some air/smoke from the fires in Colorado. Can you please clarify?

@@WanderlandTravelers Well, Ladies and Gents, as someone who grew up in SW Iowa where Omaha is the focus and as someone who lived 10 years in Western Nebraska, I can tell you Parts of Western to Central Nebraska have gorgeous areas. Eastern Nebraskans have no idea as they roll past on I 80 to Denver. I remember a very busty Nebraska gal I used to date who was an actual locomotive engineer on the BN line from Denver to Lincoln. She had a t-shirt that said "not everything in Nebraska is flat." Travelers, you missed some areas which I think would really tingle you. But, even as a former Nebraskan, we are very protective of those, perhaps selfishly. If you give it some effort you will find them. Those areas where the skies are extremely clear at night and if you pull out the roads and power lines it stills looks as it did 150 years ago and of course thousands of years before. I miss that area between May and November because of the low humidity but in the winter I prefer to be back in SW Iowa. The wind out there will drive you crazy in the winter,
