So glad I found this, I was born and raised in Gering, at the base of the Scotts Bluff. I have moved on, but this brought back wonderful memories.

My dad's family homesteaded within sight of the Bluffs at a wide spot in the road called Morrill! I lived there for my last 2 years of high school, and freshman year at Chadron State way back in the 70s. I used to go up there a lot...very nice and peaceful up there...and free! the term you are looking for at 1:15 is "badlands"! Thanks for the vid, loved the song, I'm happy AND old! LOL!

So much to see in western nebraska. Scottsbluff monument, Chimney Rock, Court House Rock, Jailhouse Rock, Rockhounding in Sidney and Bayard, Old Chimney Rock cemetary, and Chimney Rock trails, Carhenge in Alliance. Alliance has old an old theatre that's haunted, cobblestone box butte, rare water fountain in Central Park, Carhenge just south east of Alliance, underground tunnels, BNSF railroad. Chadron has a beautiful park, you feel like you are in SD. Bayard has backroads that are just beautiful all the way to Bridgeport. Summertime is the best time to see this. It's on the Northport side. Bayard also has a museum in town. Go support this small town! The museum by Chimney Rock just got new walking paths, but watch out for rattle snakes, and hog nose snakes! Staff is top notch! The young maintence guy was a pleasure to talk to, and so many informative people there. They have a great video to watch there last I knew, and you can get a close up of the rock too. Chimney Rock is on our state quarter too. :) Western Nebraska is soo beautiful. I love taking trips to see everything over here.
