Another fantastic video, Mark. And what a watch! Your putting of things in perspective (does in a day what a normal date wheel does in years) is what really makes this one. With some of the pieces you've revealed, it seems like every video should end with you turning that glass bottoms-up as a celebratory nod the the gem you just covered. HAHA!

Elgin direct read is a jump hour

It is, and works like many Cartier jump hours work, the hour jumps and the minute track slowly rotates like a minute hand. It was a popular art deco design. It is the jumping minute that is such a leap in complication. That Elgin is a really cool looking watch I have never seen before, thank you bringing it up.
