I used to run a '73 Twin reverb as my clean tone and used this pedal for all my distortion tones. That was it. Modern setting with the gain maxed and I used my volume knob to clean everything up. It was my favorite set up I ever had.

I have the original one too. Great as a standalone overdrive, but also to boost an allready driven amp. It really can get some nice 'djenty'/chunky tones. From Hardwire I also have the Supernatural reverb, my favourite reverb I have tried thus far. Great demo!

You own one of the best tones I've ever came across on KZbin... (about guys that discusses tones and gear)... Once in a while when I meet a good opportunity to buy some gear, I just take a look at a couple of videos...just to know what I'm going to deal with when I try the gear personally. With this video, I'll buy it tomorrow (found in a used store - I'm at São Paulo/Brazil), I'll just check if it is working properly, but sound wise I'm sure of what this pedal has to offer. Great job !

sounds amazing!!!! nice chops. What delay and revebr did you use? How was the tone recorded? Sounds great.
@LucasFowler6 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you liked it! The tone comes from my Line 6 Helix run directly into my interface, with an impulse response that I made. The delay is two different "transistor tape" delays panned hard left and right. One is set for 1/4 note delays and the other is set for dotted 1/8ths. The reverb is a "room" on one side and a "63 Spring" on the other.

Would you compare this pedal to a more recent, more famous one? Which one? From the video it kinda reminded me of the MXR GT-OD (great pedal) but I could be dead wrong. Thanks
@LucasFowler5 жыл бұрын
Its pretty similar to the GT-OD, but a bit less clean coming through and it definitely has more bass(and a bass control). I prefer this pedal actually.
@DavidRFIT5 жыл бұрын
@@LucasFowler thanks a lot, to me it sounded like a tubescreamer clone in the "classic" mode (and I would really like to know if it is a 100% TS clone or it sounds a bit different) and a more high-gain pedal (like the GT-OD) in the "modified" mode. More or less. After watching your video I'm really considering buying this pedal. Where I live (I'm from Italy) I can find it in the used market for like 40€ (45$). Lucky me you're not famous in Italy, of prices would have sky-rocketed :D

I'm pretty sure that was my Line 6 Helix direct in with a Hiwatt amp model. The delay would have been the "Transistor Tape" model delay.

I'd recommend scrolling the knobs live instead of just announcing it, this usually provides a more relative live explanation since you do display the pedal sometimes in the top left (thank you). Would just provide a better flexibility performance than vocally announcing it (ps, yes you are a better player than me

Those are Digitech-brand, Hardwire is the name of that rugged line.
@j_reaume52483 жыл бұрын
and Digitech (Harmon) pretty much gutted their guitar effect line, including the Hardwire series, a couple years ago. The multi-effects line was scrubbed which isn't surprising since they were a decade behind many of the others in same product set (L6, Boss, Fractal). There are a few pedals left in their line up, but most of these are just residual products that still have a few years left in their life cycle.

@@artyom108 I might have to add one to my collection. I have solid bodies, semi- hollow bodies, humbuckers, single coils, solid state and tube amps so of course no pedal seems to do it all. One pedal might sound great with one set-up and fall a little short in another. But this Digitech Hardwire seems worth a try.
