Very interesting. The 2 world wars definitely paved the way for women to get more involved in industry. So much has changed in such a short time. Unbelievable.

In my family, women always worked outside the home. My grandmother was working on an assembly line by age 16. Her oldest daughter was a nurse and ran a 200 acre farm, with two toddlers, by 1940. My other aunts also worked full time jobs and raised kids. My mom did not because my dad asked her not to. Consequently, I was raised to believe I could have any job in the world if I wanted it. So I became a pastry chef and baker at a time when women didn’t do that. I could lift, carry, and work as much as the men I worked with, and I’m glad I did. My only regret is that I didn’t try to go into a better paying trade like welding. I love welding.
