I think this is good if you don’t use your kitchen often. Hidden pantry is a great idea that can be implemented almost anywhere.

Great to see you back ! My new kitchen is finished. I could not find pocket door so what I did is to have a big column cabinet where I put my appliances so that there are not on my countertop ! I brought some sockets into it like that I can use my appliance when I open the door and hide them when not in use !😊

I just want to hide my gas stove and big sink by the window. I think something like open boxes on those two places might serve the purpose. What do you suggest.

I have never changed my idea of what a kitchen is all about, to me it's a work room. not a place to stand around with a glass of wine with friends while opening a packet of something in a posh kitchen. I would love to not have my kitchen so cluttered which it is as I want things to hand to grab, this is what happens when you really cook. I love the no upper cupboard idea and just shelves but all that greasy sticky grime to clean away does not thrill me. However we are in a new world and it comprises of the air fryer! these do eliminate a lot of the greasy grime problem and also the extractor issue to some extent. Would love to see a video incorporating air fryers which need to be out on counter top but well designed and not just plonked! its all very tricky stuff but for us rural cooks we need a good workroom which is easily kept clean and yet looks rather nice! over to you!

Great idea for the hidden kitchens. If one didn’t clean their stove -“ and get unexpected guests -you just close it up

More cons than pro's I'd say. If you just put your stuff in non see through cupboards and buy kitchenware that isnt an eyesore, you really don't need to hide anything.

Many years ago, before everyone wanted an 'open layout', kitchens were relatively small and tucked away, separate from living spaces. In hindsight, that type of design seems to check all the boxes.

I thought the hidden kitchen’s turned the spaces into claustrophobic boring spaces. No light or art on the “kitchen” wall. They looked like conference rooms in a large corporate building.
