Longhorn Lester here on KZbin has a couple of male ostrich that killed and decapitated a coyote yesterday. He just posted a video on it. I had heard threy were protective but I didn't realize how well they work.'Im glad everyone is doing well on the farm !

The two donkeys are settling in well.just glad you were all safe from the human predator the dogs didn’t care to them he shouldn’t be there and they let him know it well done to all of the LGD dogs. I have a 100lb boxer/pit bull mix and he acts a lot like your dogs, 😂 he always follows me and sits in the doorway (facing out) anytime I go into the laundry room or bathroom-sometimes it’s annoying, because I have to wait for him to move, so I can get through the doorway. He’s been more protective of me ever since I had Covid-in bed for 6wks- He’s a great dog though!

So happy to see the animals! And glad the dogs are doing fantastic. I notice Mr. Smeegle is into Rock 'N Roll just like my cat. He (my black and white cat, Tippers) also loves to roll and have a back scrub in the little blue gravels, and gets the same familiar dust. Sometimes like to nickname him "Dusty Driveways" .. (a little play of words named after the wrestler Dusty Rhodes). Or say "It's Rock "n Roll time with Mr. Tips, on WFUR radio".

You know you get annoyed at the chickens when they go after the feed when putting it into the bucket but for me I smile, chuckle and enjoy the chickens "stealing" a little food prior to being fed. I especially like when they sit on the bucket and help themselves, lol lol

Try giving the donkeys a big ball to play with. There is an inflatable big ball for horses. Brooke and Jason at Cog Hill Farm KZbin channel gave one of these balls to their miniature donkey and she loves it.

You always have your hands down in their food when they are eating as you give them their eggs. Def no aggression. I think that would extend to their trophies because you guys are the Alphas of their pack. ❤ Thought about you as I move my Rottweiler’s head because she protects our 8 yo granddaughter sleeping beside me!! A donkey's ears are like radar - you see them move and swivel to listen for predators. They will also lay them back when angry or in a defensive mode to protect them. The ears often telegraph their moods.
