You not the only one that has messed up. At least you stopped before you went to far. It turned out good in the end. I think Mojo waits for Rachael so he can in his way cheer her up. Dogs are very sensitive and they know what's going on. Glad Leeske and Kora get along and eat together. Smeegle is always around to get what they drop. Can't wait to see what Y'all did at the lake property. GOD BLESS Y'ALL.

We all learn from our mistakes and try not to do it again. The wood shed is going to look good. It's common for dog's to like multiple people and they choose one person that they respond to more than any others. I've seen Smeegle in with Leeske and Kora and it's nice to see them get along.

Kevin, When I first built my brooder coop, I used scrap siding that had been pre-stained in several different colors for different projects. I just randomly placed the colors and it ended up looking great. Everyone that saw it asked me how I did it and wanted to copy the idea. 😂 Just get whatever colors you can find (it's getting to be a supply issue around here in north Texas too) and use it for now. You can always go over it later.

Kevin, we all make mistakes. The thing is to learn from our mistakes. Luckily, my mistakes weren't on camera. LOL You stopped yourself before you went too far, and it looks good with the clear sealer. I'm glad you were able to find some the second time. I love when you do voiceovers for Mojo. It is so amusing! Hey, he came for you (in his own sweet time) and he chowed down right away, too. That was good to see. I love seeing how much Kora and Leeske and Smeegle get along together, and how much the dogs have grown. Thanks for adding the Kora kisses at the end for us.

Your not the only one that’s made a mistake staining,I learned after a few mistakes because I like to mix stains to get the colour I want it,it took yrs to get it right now it’s easy for me to do this,I love taking old furniture and repurposing it from sanding down to the bare bones or depending how much work it needs on what I do,like me I don’t have patience I like to see change now but also with age I’m different and I don’t do as much as I used to do now but I still love to do lil projects but my hubby helps me now as I tire easily! Awesome job Kevin,it’s one thing I do respect about you and Rachel when you start a project you get it finished before starting 5 other 1/2 done projects!! Love you two and your videos and of course MoJo is my favourite boy!🐾🐾❤️🇨🇦

Oh boy! My sister and I, who neither one of us were painters, decided to paint my mother's garage door, front door and trim as a surprise while she took a get-away trip after my father died. She saw a color she really liked, showed us and kept talking about it for ages, so we were stoked to do it. My mother left and my sister went out and bought the paint. I knew at the time it was way too pink, but she kept saying it will darken as it dries. The frame color was a wedgewood blue. When it was done and dried it looked like a giant came along and puked bubble gum on the doors and trim. No way to redo it, She came home and was furious beyond words! I told her that I would repaint it and she said if you even try to you will not see another birthday. It cost her big bucks to have it professionally done. Needless to say that was 30 years ago and I haven't picked up a paint brush since!!!!

Don't feel bad Sonia. I had a mishap with my daughter wallpapering my kitchen and hallway while I was away on vacation and it was a dark green!!! I basically hate green anything except vegetables so you can imagine how upset I was when I saw it and even worse than that was the fact that she only did it halfway and never finished the job because she knew that I wanted wainscoting on the bottom part of the walls. 15 years later and that crap is still on my kitchen walls and hallway and my older sister came over for something and decided because I hated the green that she was going to try to peel it off so not only is it only part way done, but now I've got Patches where the wallpaper is missing. This wallpaper was a tear and paste so you could tear a piece of wallpaper in any shape you wanted and I hated that also. My kitchen used to be white with blue flowers and I had a marble colored blue wallpaper on the bottom with a border and my daughter tore it all off when she did the wallpapering. I still remind her how much I hate those walls LOL

Having worked in the paint department at several retail hardware stores over the years, I know that many of these stain/paint manufacturers make small test samples and have them available for purchase to allow someone to avoid the issue you just went through. If not seen, you might ask to see if they are available. I hope they are available for your next project. Maybe even contact the manufacturer to see if they have some to send, while letting them know it will be featured on one of your episodes. I am sure they wouldn't mind a bit of free advertising. Lol

I’m old and wasn’t sure if I could finish the project in one day hence the bottles. After years and years of using Thompson’s. I found a product recommended to me by a guy in the store called FLOOD, and then I bought some hand spray bottles. Well, my hands hurt from my arthritis for about two weeks afterwards but I was really glad I had done that. The spray bottles let me control how much went where. And the FLOOD product was a clear coat; cheaper, that didn’t clog up the bottles nozzles at all, and I did my deck wonderfully. And it was all clean up with warm water and dish soap. If you can’t get your money back, use that product on the inside. And I absolutely love that Mojo knows he can screw with you and you can’t do anything about it; or he’ll tell mom.

Kevin, when you have a plateful of projects; deadlines, both self-imposed and nature-imposed; and a desire to finish projects, it is easy to overlook small details. Supply chain shortages and unexpected weather events are also detractors which cause you to move faster than you should. That you have identified your shortcomings is laudable and will help if you pay attention to that small quiet voice that is trying to get your attention. As a former Army NCO used to planning and executing projects I offer this advice: When attending to a project, take a moment, breathe, then review the steps in how you are going to accomplish the task. Review if you have the materials, then located them. Ask yourself, what can go wrong and how do I overcome it? Develop an alternative plan. Lastly, when possible, run your plans by Rachel, because sometimes Ford has a better idea. This also keeps her in the loop and the second pair of eyes may spot something that has been overlooked. Good luck with your other projects.

Yes I have made my share of mistakes. On the wood shed I think I would have tested the stain first and I would have started on the back so I could get my method worked out and any flaws would be out of sight. You said you were going to stack the wood right to left with new wood in the back. Consider stacking front to back with ole seasoned on one side and green wood on the other. It will be helpful next year. This Way you can always keep old and new separated with having to move ie again.I would never try to tell you what to do, but when you get old (74) you have more experience LOL.

You are not alone with the lack of patience. I once told my late Mum that my older Sister got her patience and mine. Still true to this day! Why no eggs for the dogs today? 🙁

Kevin… I am old enough to be your mom… with a bit of experience! I have learned not to ever pray for patience as the Lord will give you many opportunities to learn! On the other hand… the Lord will still give you opportunities to gain those attributes… but at least they come in the Lord’s time and place! I find that the lessons are easier to accept when they come without asking for them!!🥰 You recognized your own mistake and have learned from it. We all make mistakes and we each have our own level of accepting what we have learned. Remain humble and teachable… that is life🥰 love your videos!

Working on updating a bathroom as we are planning on selling our home when I retire in a few years . Knew I neededto get a small sample of paint to figure out if the color was ok but we were spinning plates with several decisions that had to be made and when it came time to get the paint I bought a full gallon instead of the sample. Our friend, a handy man, who we hired to help us began painting when we were not home. Color looked awful. Now not only did I waste the cost of the paint but now I have to pay him extra for his time to fix what we messed up. No ones fault but my own. Bathroom is going to be beautiful when it is done though
