I LOVE the way you care for your farm cats. That shows that you love them. Too many people don’t even provide the basic requirements of adequate food & shelter and there you are providing places to meet their curiosity and exercise needs! I know I NEVER get tired of updates on the barn cats AND their abode. For me it is endlessly fascinating and enjoyable. Cats always like getting their homes changed up and improved, even if they like to have their ONE special spot doesn't mean they won't try out new things. It does challenge them when they have something new to explore. They just love that and I love that you make such an effort to do that for them. Your farm is so cool but I admit my favorite part is the kitties and YOU. Thank you!

Yes thanks, I’ve seen the evidence that the cats are chewing, still have a bit more to do to make it safer for them but it’s a start. Don’t know when part 2 will be ready but I’m planning it out now, it’s gonna be super fun.

Almost 70 years ago, my family adopted a Siamese who had chewed through AC insulation as a kitten and lost most of her teeth. We always made sure that she had proper food and she lived to a good age. 🐈‍⬛☺

I don't have barn cats, but I have two feral cats that adopted me when they were young. They stay in the garage at night and are allowed to roam free during the day. I have used the heating pads similar to those you displayed. Mine love their heat pads. Keeps them warm on cold winter nights. Although not as extensive as your cat house, my garage has a variety of things to keep the cats entertained at night. Mine too are avid hunters and often leave little treasures for me to find. I throw them out in a certain area to ensure Mr. Opossum has a nice meal when he happens along.

Use a bottle of saline to rinse the cat's eyes out, when they get gunky. I buy saoft vintage heating pads with no auto shut off. I leave it on, under her cat bed in winter. My cat really loves that warm spot. You can also make a shallow flat box with a string of lights inside on some tin foil, directing the heat upwards. The box will heat up nicely for the cats to lay on. You could do that with that plank of wood by the window.

What a nice project I'm glad I find you, you are exactly my double. 24 years ago I bougth un abandon farm (80 hectars) and I love it. Restore the house with all the confort you can imagine, built new barns and left the city life (hell). Two days ago one of my favorite goats (May) strangled herself in a fence, in a matter of 5 minutes she was dead, I tried to resuscitate her and nothing happen I was crying and asking God to make her come back to life but no... she had a 3 month baby (Nelly) it was so painful to see her screaming nearby her mother... I put Nelly with is mother sister (Dasy) and she calmed a lot, this morning Dasy had a baby I named her Fify. Life seem to go on with highs and lows as normal...

It's ok, my message was not negative but rather positive, yesterday a bad accident happen but this morning first thing, there was new life, I helped the mother to deliver the placenta, dray the baby and help him to take is first milk spent one hour of enjoy with both of them and Nelly near by (yin and yang) we never lose but always learn, to be humble is the way to go.
