I think FixTF2 hadn't even fully set all the goals before Valve fulfilled the bare minimum demand that was asked from them. The community was going in right direction and people had started to address the problem with Valve Casual Servers in general, like muting F2P players and how the mode is overtly competitive despite called "casual". It's even sad that most of the discussion has turned from optimistic "what ifs" into "it's ok until Valve abandons the game again"... We are back at the stagnation stage from 8 years ago. People know we didn't make any steps forwards but actually back but nobody want's to say this.

Why hide the flags tho? Also I agree with Remyie on adding decals instead. The flags don't really fit the style of tf2 and making it a decal would be better since people know that it's a decal. If they want representation then I think using other things that fit more in with tf2 style would be better like adding a pet shark cosmetic that sits on your head or shoulder because of the ikea shark thing being related to trans community and stuff. We did this with the MF DOOM cosmetic, it's a huge reference to MF DOOM and DOCTOR DOOM while the cosmetic itself alone also fit in the tf2 style.

The flags cannot be seen in normal gameplay so it isn't really an issue that they don't fit the TF2 style. However, Valve stopped giving a shit about having a consistent style for the game's cosmetics years ago so pride flags aren't really out of place when we have banana hats, robot butlers, Monoculus glasses, etc

The flags being hidden in a texture is a total non-issue, pride flags are inoffensive or I guess only offensive to the worst kinds of people so it's fine and Valve thinks so too since they human review textures and assets before putting them into the game. If that bothers someone then that's their problem, the cosmetic itself is excellent and the creator did a great job with it.
