@LT153134 жыл бұрын
Completely different sound signatures with different goals. I have the Solaris SE and Hero, Solaris is much more balanced and focuses more on the presentation ie more holographic and three-dimensional than the Hero with a much more balanced over FR. The Hero on the other hand emphasises the sub bass and vocals, has a much better bass response imo with more texture and punch and vocals are more bodied and ethereal. The soundstage is also very good on Hero but it isn’t as holographic and 3D and the sound signature is a lot more intense and aggressive sounding. Solaris (SE) is more relaxed.
@Dasbeerboots4 жыл бұрын
@@LT15313 So what's a fair comparison around the $1500 or less mark? I'm a basshead to the core. Have Polaris 2 coming this Wednesday. I know they get shit on for the bloated bass, but I think I'm really going to enjoy them. I have my eyes set on the Legend X, but that's very much out of my price range right now.
@LT153134 жыл бұрын
@@Dasbeerboots I’d highly rec the Legend X, I have it too alongside the Z1R which is also phenomenal for bass. The Legend X Is a technical powerhouse and has the deepest reaching bass I’ve ever heard. If I were you, I’d try and pick one up used or save up. If not, the Z1R has the best textured bass I’ve ever heard, very very satisfying but it doesn’t have as much as the LX quantity wise.

@Krmpfpks4 жыл бұрын
@@slimsam3447 it’s hard to say but they beat all the flagships I tested. For once Custom IEMs sound better than universals, I’m not sure I can build universals that are better than these. And then the sound highly depends on the shape of the ear canal. The volume of air between the eardrum and the driver alone has a very big impact on the sound as it defines the resonance frequencies. If you build your own, you tune for your own ears, they can’t. Also you can easily source the same drivers. The only really hard thing to DIY is the APEX modules and getting hybrids with dynamic drivers right, as dynamic drivers usually need precise geometry and precise and very small holes for back pressure relief. So I only use electrostats and balanced armatures, they are easy to use. It’s a nice hobby, can only suggest to try it. Due to the tooling your first pair will be north for 500 dollars though, it’s not cheap.

@@zengaminglab5255 it’s a good investment because you can use them more. Personally, I use IEMs for tracking music as I’m a musician but they also look better than headphones when I’m out and about. Which, granted, isn’t much at the moment but if you’re spending £1000 on earphones, you’re not just looking present use, you’re looking at future use as well. Also, a lot of people buying IEMs buy them to accompany a primary set of headphones for something just a little difference. It’s all about personal preference.
