The Deva is a remarkably great headphone for it's price. Extremely detailed and full when used with decent power. I confess, I don't often use it in Bluetooth mode however every single time I have, it has worked great and the LDAC codec sounds amazing. I've owned this headphone for around 3 months and I think Hifiman has learned a bit from their past mistakes especially in the build department. I would highly recommend this set to anyone looking for fantastic detail and an honest presentation that works well with acoustic music and vocals.

I think you would really like the AKG K712 Pro! It has an immersive soundstage, which really feels like you're in a different environment, with a very enjoyable sound signature, good separation and detail retrieval ( it has a way of cramming the details in like the HD800, but without being harsh) and an interest layering (what it decides to put in the foreground and background). It is amp picky though.

I used to own one before I started EQing. Really liked it, but the mids seemed weird.
@hypnoz78713 жыл бұрын
@@chuckyfox9284 too bad because the K712 respond extremely well to EQ. You can basically give him Harman Target mids without much distortion and it sound awesome.

Would love to have seen more comparisons to other Bluetooth headphones. From the sounds of things Bluetooth is the main reason to buy this headphone so why not compare it to other Bluetooth headphones? I’m genuinely unsure how it compares as most other Bluetooth headphones are not open back planars. How does it compare to AirPods max? B&W PX7? Sony XM4?

This is probably the only Bluetooth headphone I would get if I want a Bluetooth headphones I heard the new 400i is going to have that headband which is probably my favorite headband out of all of them when it comes to hifiman products personally I think hifiman should start using the deva headband from now on and change every product out with the deva headband and make the earpads thicker so it's seals properly

Is wired Deva worth it now if I can get it for $150 with a discount while Sundara is still at $350?

thanks for this review! i fall in this weird niche where I'm looking for a comfortable wireless/Bluetooth headset. I'm in-between this and the Sony XM-4, and I'm wondering if the Hifiman Deva would be better for my at-home usage since I don't really value ANC. To be honest I mostly listen to streamed audio at 128kbps--what would you suggest?

Would a Sony mark3 user prefer the sound quality of the Deva over the Sony, other features of the Sony notwithstanding, just on pure sound quality?

awesome video! what headphone do u suggest for Jazz? i listen to a lot of Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, Oscar Peterson, Chick Corea, Dave Brubeck, John Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, Ahmad Jamal, Michel Petrucciani, Bud Powell... thank u !

The sound signature and form factor reminds me of a pair of Ultrasones I used to own. The Performance 840 had the strangest mid range I've ever heard and Ultrasone sold the bluetooth adapter separate. Very similar but at least Hifiman includes the hideous adapter at no extra cost.

Bluetooth audio should be ditched for good when we can do uPnP via Wi-Fi. Basically having Chord mojo+poly built into Focal Elegia would be my dream portable headphone.

Don’t have the Sundara but I do have the HE-560 original (with SMC connectors) and the DEVA, always been curious about the Sundara, but hard to justify getting that for me with my other HiFiMAN cans already in house 😅 They do sound a lot different to my ears than you describe them, though - I definitely hear no “grain” and bass is fine, good imaging and detail, definitely don’t hear this “compression” you speak of, either

That's probably cause your ears aren't as trained as his.

Can you please compare this with the sony's XM4s ? I know these are not ANCs . Yet they both fall into the Bluetooth category and both are under similar price range .

Man, do I agree on the ugliness of the mismatch colors between the Bluemini dongle and the headphones... and yeah it still would look dorky even matching the color but with the mismatched color it really makes it look like a third party abomination 😂 but I do like how well it drives them....

That frequency response is not worth $300. $300 is not cheap. I think people are getting seriously skewed by the price of modern flagships. For most normal people, $80 is not a cheap headphone. $20-30 is a 'cheap' headphone.
@omni64094 жыл бұрын
So true. The industry has been raising prices until we forgot that $300 is expensive for headphone. Now, even $1000 is mid-fi.

With due respect taking 21min t to review any headphone is far too long, some editing is required. One consolation you incl a freq. response curve(your curve I suspect it is supplied by the manufacturer) which most reviewers left out. Too long SO I skip in many parts.
