Back in day Hifonics worked plenty for me .they were within my budget and I stayed with my stock alternator and just added a few batteries

I love my old 2000rms Hifonics BRX2000.1D I once had 2 of them wired down to half ohms strapped!!! That was a quarter ohms per amp. I still have 1 in my bedroom on my 18" CT Sounds Tropo 3inch coil subwoofer.

That brx has worked for me with at least 500 hours of music playing over the years. It still works.

I found one of these today, and bought it because of this video...yes, it's new. Scoured the internet, until I found one for 256 bucks! I've been researching for a while, and just needed a solid amp to push some 10's. I appreciate this video, and dyno since I've been a big Hifonics fan (along with Rockford) for years! Great content man! Definitely helped make my decision to buy this amp easier!

Brx2400 is one of my fav amps. Clean great SQ. Very impressive amp. But hifonics are hit or miss. Stick to the brutus line. The BE40 are their best amps

Thats crazy. I had that same amp about 5 years or more ago and Ive still got pics of the board. Totally different board and design but same model and heatsink.

I have had att least 50 different car amps and I have to say hifonics was only one that ever had a problem and actually caught on fire was shooting sparks crazy. It was insane. I pulled the power wire and it continued burning. Didn't even pop it's fuse. Wasn't box mounted and had rubber spacers in amp rack Mine was the 1800 Watt rated one I have to add that this was 14 or 15 years ago Maybe they were made of lesser quality than or maybe I was just unlucky.
@HiFiVector Жыл бұрын
Just unlucky that it not normal but I’m sure it happens I have heard similar with other brand amps so I think sometimes you just get a bad one no matter what brand.

@@HiFiVector It's just crazy. The fuse didn't pop but it caught on fire. i could hear it arching. I had taken the 6x9s out of the rear deck and I could actually see the sparks through the rear deck.

Thinking back, the Hifon8cs amp I had was a BXi model I believe.

@@HiFiVector If you can find another one of those amps from when they first came out you should check the guts. I had the same one and it had a totally different board. The new one has way less components and its a different design. If you send me your email Ill send pics. Both new andvold have the same model sticker on the board.

the BRZ2400s were my fav but these are badass for the price

It looks like they have used an existing chassis design with newer, more compact circuit designs that lead to a circuit board extension. It should help the amp live longer since it has an oversize heatsink compared to one that would match the size of the circuits.

Manufacturers lying about their Ratings should be avoided. Maxxsonics merger really ruined the Hiphonics brand.

IDK about these. Legit power. I went with Audiopipe APMI 2000 amps for the same reasons. Reliable rated power.

Dyno the new Marts amps like Parker the basshead has. Also I really want to see the Soundqubed S1-2250.1 amplifier get dynoed because that's what I'm using.

That looks a little cheap inside. My BRX2016.1D has a lot more going on inside of it. I’m really curious to see how mine performs on an amp dyno test because it is a beast.

Nothing wrong with a china amp! My issue is with maxxsonics as a company. There is no real quality control from one model to the next.

I’ve been in the car audio game since 1984. I have my share of old-school HiFhonics amps, and I’ve bought a few HiFhonics amps through the early to mid 2000s. The problem with all of them including the Brutus line of amps is that they’re not reliable at all. They’re made as cheap as they get. Over the years. I can’t tell you how many amps I’ve seen fried. Brutus was no exception. I would rather take the $200 and buy a nice used amp with less output than buy one I’ll most likely be buying again. I really want to like them because they’ve been in the car audio game since the beginning but to me they’re just not worth buying now.
@taylormade5217 Жыл бұрын
I've had every Brutus amp from 2000 to present and I can tell you they actually take a beating ,do they get hot yes but they are actually good amps if you say Brutus line is bad then your definitely entitled to your opinion.
@gbodytoys Жыл бұрын
I guess quality control isn't as good as these price points. Some people have had 1000 hours out of these amps and others 10. Some people don't have the electrical to support 300+ amps (bass amp, midd/highs, and vehicle needs.)

Everyone always telling me that hifonics suck and to go buy JL or somthing. a JL amp that puts out that much power here in canada is like 2 grand. like what? Meanwhile for 8 years i had a hifonics zues 2k running at .7 ohms and finally just bit the dust here a few years ago and cost me 300$ in 2012 ish. Ran a 2k rms 12 for the entire time. Now looking for a new amp to run my 3 tens

As long as you know what true watts you are getting Hifonics amps are great. The BG and BRX series are some of my fav budget half bridge amps. Good sound quality and hood watt per dollar for half bridge. And they are solid and seem to last.

What’s the balanced in looks like a special din cable I’ve never seen
@HiFiVector Жыл бұрын
And actually, there’s no documentation on it either in the manual. It is a special input cable that is very hard to fine and not many radios even have that output connector in the first place. It seems it was an idea that was never really necessary probably why they didn’t even listed in the manual. But what it is is an input so if you were able to use it, you would use that instead of the RCA inputs.
