@@VogonPoet67 I'm confused, are you making fun of people who are pretentious about radiohead or do you genuinely think they are better than any other band? Also most Radiohead fans who aren't pricks don't think that

The Bends is a monster of an album. Think about how this was their second album and they just went crazy and never looked back. The whole album is a masterpiece from production to execution. Listen to the whole thing. You won't regret it. Pablo Honey (minus Creep) is 90's Alternative by numbers. The Bends learns from that lesson and evolves in the most beautiful way. For the record: Fake Plastic Trees sets me on fire and kicks me down a flight of stairs.

One of the funniest reviews i've read about the album was "this is an album U2 would sell crack to nuns to make"!! (disclaimer: I'm a big U2 fan)

Pablo Honey is a good album for what it is - early 90s alternative rock. It was a successful album when it was released. The people that like to crap on Pablo Honey don't like it because it doesn't sound like later Radiohead albums. Pablo Honey isn't my all time favorite Radiohead album, but I enjoy listening to it, and I don't think that it's as bad as some people say that it is. Have a listen and judge for yourself. Don't miss out on something just because someone else doesn't like it. Enjoyed the reaction. Edit: I've always liked the video for Fake Plastic Trees. Not trying to sound pretentious, but I've always viewed the shoppers in the store as random people moving through their lives. At the end of the video all of those people exit the store, stepping into the white void, Thom briefly stops and notices a toddler, or a new generation arriving at the store. It might not mean that at all, and I'm just looking too far into it, but that's what it makes me think about.

RH have some really excellent tracks held back by the video. When you have a primo song like "Jigsaw falling into place", telling an excellent story, building and building throughout, a video of people with GoPros on selfie sticks on bicycle helmets doesn't add to the song, and becomes a talking point where one isn't needed. Ditto for Paranoid Android - the video is edgy and some people's jam, but I find it an distracting adjunct to the music. However, the Video for Karma Police is the exception... and then Street Spirit's video is great.

With Creep. They didn’t want a one hit wonder. They didn’t want to record it and tried to give it away but were basically forced to record and release it. This may have contributed to how they abandoned record labels and went in a completely direction later on.

High and Dry is just about my best Radiohead song. but so many really but yes I love all their albums especially after the first one., they have always been a bit cynical on society commentary usually turning the mirror on you. to me they were just chilled. I really love 'The Bends' too great song that one.

Most of the songs on this record are great and even the couple that aren't great are still good, it's a simpler version of Radiohead that focuses more on guitars, vocals and stellar songwriting.
@ajames82373 ай бұрын
I guess they were alt rock. I think The Cure was one of the first contemporary bands that made it ok for a male lead to sing about their feelings. I’ve no idea why people say Pablo Honey isn’t good. I bought it when came out and thought it was great.

You are but you aren't the money grabbing " I'll do absolutely anything for money" yes, I am a Radiohead fan and having following them from the beginning I am by no means an expert. Nonetheless, in my work, I move around a lot and other than Radiohead these guys are most certainly worth a listen.. This is Supergrass Moving'. You don't have to play it to an audience, smply play it amongst yourselves.. My apologies for the long winded comeback. I wish you both well in your reactionary endeavours..Be Good, Kind and Understanding.

If you can't play in the rain, you can't play the British music festivals circuit, because sooner or later, summer or not, there's going to be a downpour on mainstage. They just have to insulate the wiring and the sockets well I guess. The pursuit of fake perfection destroying people's happiness and self-image, necessarily being impossible and fraudulent, and therefore both too expensive and a failure, because commodities are soon crap and never built to last, except as plastic waste. Marx being right as always, it's that interdependent pattern of processes necessary for profits, in addition to exploitation - commodification, dehumanisation, and alienation, with the dehumanisation and alienation produced by the pursuit of fake perfection manifesting in body dysmorphia, eating disorders, imposter syndrome, derealisation, self-harm, depression, isolation etc. And the means of pursuing fake perfection have just grown, with AI, digital image manipulation and the competitive game of faking perfect appearances and perfect lives to self-commodify on Facebook and Instagram and Tik Tok and Tinder that most young people are forced into playing by their "Smart" phones.

They are a good band , the record contract they had was for 5 years so they were having to play pop music for sometime until they eventually ended the contract and made music with other instruments and having influence with pink floyd in experimenting . sadly thom yorke is a great in making music , but he gone all political which spoils music and recently gone solo and the music gone downhill from there . Jonny Greenwood i believe has so much talent in creating the radoihead sound that made them famous ,that guy has talent.
