Loved it!!! I’m so happy that Alexia was able to join in this reaction since the song is so special to both of you. It’s interesting that you mentioned this song as being melancholy because I feel that way about most Radiohead songs. Anyone who is close to me knows that I’m in a sad space whenever I’m listening to a lot of Radiohead. To me, the best things about music are how it brings out your own emotions and brings people together. Thanks so much for sharing your story and reacting to this song!

This Radiohead song was a major component in my life's soundtrack for a long, long time after it was released. Their superb musicianship and uniquely brilliant compositions continue to transport me elsewhere, whether I need to or not.

That was a terrific song, song request and reaction. Radiohead was a bandit was just never on my radar out. I was at the height of my activity in my career, probably wrapped up in my old music. Great to hear it here. I’ve already downloaded this song and I’m anxious to hear it again. Very compelling melody, chord, progression, note choices, atmospheric nuances, very original and nothing derivative, amazingly good. Love you guys peace out thanks JJ. 👍👍❤️❤️

I think most of In Rainbows sounds better live, especially from the basement which is actually the studio for their producer Nigel Godrich who's often referred to as their 6th member. There are other bands who did recorded performances from this studio like The White Stripes, Queens Of The Stone Age, and Sonic Youth to name a few.

Love this reaction guys, y'all are the best. This session of this song specifically was one of the most important and beautiful moments of my life, it was one of my first exposures to the band, and it single handedly changed what I can expect from music, this song is a perfect example of how emotionally potent music can be, personally this song feels like a combination of profound sadness and something unbelievably beautiful, I can imagine something like watching the most beautiful sunset but while knowing its your last.

Huge Radiohead fan and have seen them live twice. Very tight band. Their entire catalog is great. Ed O'Brien, the guy with the background vocals in this video put out a really solid solo album a few years ago. Check out the tune the Daily Mail in the Basement when they have horns in the background. It's fantastic.

The sudden vibe switch at 12:37 is one of my favorite Radiohead moments in their full catalogue. Despite how much creep has been overplayed and how they are so tired of playing it, it was the perfectly authentic song for that time in their life and thats why its so popular. They may have outgrown it, but others will grow up and it'll be the right song for them.

I remember watching a nature documentary about the ocean many years ago. The entire episode was dedicated to what happens when a whale dies, and its carcass falls to the depths of the ocean floor... picked over by the worms. This song always reflected a certain kind of grief that I was never able properly express as a young man, trying to navigate the world; Most of the time lost in some way, pretending I wasn't. For me, Thom was singing about escape and release through inevitable death... feeding the teeming masses of scavengers, giving the gift a morbid sort of life to everyone else. Yeah, it is dark, but I get it, and it speaks directly to a very important part of me, and likely to everyone else who cherishes this song so much. Thanks for the reaction.

I only really know The Bends and OK Computer from Radiohead's catalogue, so this was great to see and it was great! Remember your Brothers Johnson reaction where you talked about brothers in bands? Well here's an example of where it works very well. The Greenwood brothers - Jonny on guitar/keys and Colin on bass. A band that does everything on their own terms.

Music is so powerful to evoke emotions and memories. RADIOHEAD in particular dig deep into my psyche and they always provide an emotional gut punch. I’ve really grown to ADORE them. They’re in an elite class of bands where the output and talent equals the hype and the sales and the acclaim. One of their most underrated and beautiful albums is “MOON SHAPED POOL”… which I consider on the same tier as “OK COMPUTER” and “KID A”… it’s an atmospheric gem. Some other bands that measure up (IMO) are: XTC, ELBOW, and THE CHILLS (check out “PYRAMID/WHEN THE POOR CAN REACH THE MOON,” “NIGHT OF THE CHILL BLUE,” and/or “WATER WOLVES” (symphony version).

I love that they let Thom sleep until right before performance time. He has the best bedhead of any rocker north of Newstead's neck of the woods, especially Jim, who has been disqualified, due to lack of participating matériel. That said, I loved seeing them play. The editing was superb. Everything was, including your reactions. "Pyramid Song" resonates with me more than many of their songs, but this one will be revisited many times. Thanks JJ and ye lovelies.

My favorite version of this song is also here on YT under the title "Weird Fishes/Arpeggi (Scotch Mist)". It's a dark song in a way, but has a great line regarding love: I'd be crazy not to follow, follow where you lead . . . Good advice for any boy who has found someone like Lex!

I can't listen to the album, only the From the Basement version. Disagree it sounds like the recorded version. It sounds so much better than the recorded version. Nude, Reckoner and House of Cards in particular stand out as well from this session.

@@NicknLex turns out we were five seats back, not seven. Was spectacular. He played nine of my flavourite Radiohead songs. Cindy was beaming the whole time. He said before one song that he'd had thr opportunity to work with some amazing people over the years, too many to mention, but that he hates touring alone. His synth stopped 20 seconds into a club anthem, and he pointed out that there was "no computer on stage ... these bitches don't always cooperative". At the start of Let Down, he was singing verse three, stopped, everyone cheered and laughed, and he started again with verse one.
