Having watched probably all of the podcasts on KZbin, this one is my favorite. Cindy is a fantasy; makes me want to jump in my 911 (a 52 consecutive year 911owner) and head up PCH, then cross country collecting destination stickers as did she. She is inspiring. The video , Fixing Before it Breaks, was so well done and should be part of everyone’s library who owns a 996 or 997. Always thought the filming on Wheeler Dealers was the best, but this video tops that. True that there are many parts which can stop you dead in a 996, but is that not true in any car? My 73 911S, the injection pump belt, my 67 E Type, a drop of rain on the distributor as it is right under the hood vents, or my 63 Vette, a broken throttle spring! So, the video may scare us a bit, but it does get our attention. Thanks Dave Kirchgessler La Verne, Ca. (5 miles from Glendora Ridge Rd, visit some time)

Great show. I find it amazing that more don't take their sports cars on long road trips. There is plenty of room in the 911 bonnet and back "seat" for gear. So many great roads across the country

You are talking about changing oil filters. Worked in a foreign car repair shop. Triumph TR6 owner brought us a car he had changed the oil on himself. Engine was seized. What had happened was that the oil filter is a paper filter inside of a canister screwed to the side of the block in a very awkward spot. It is hard to get it on correctly. He didn’t get it on properly and the oil ran out as he drove it. I was always taught to check for leaks after installing an oil filter…. Anyhow I expected the crank to be seized but it was the camshaft that seized. I thought I could install a new cam and new bearings. Called the Triumph dealer and he informed me that the bearings were cast into the block and it would require a new short block. Took it to a really outstanding local automotive machine shop and they line bored it and put in new bearings. Worked fine. Saved the customer a lot of money. He was outraged at the cost and thought I had cheated him!

Nice episode. Cindy is doing cross country right. I’ve driven my 2018 911 Turbo S coast to coast twice plus many other multi state trips. I’ve learned a lot including how to pick roads, lodging, what to pack, and how. America is a beautiful place and it’s worth seeing.

Love the shows but we never get to see the guests except from the side. Get a semi-circle table so we can see everyone.

...I have been known to make a midweek decision to take a weekend trip to Tail of the Dragon (from Maryland). 991.1 C2 has handled each of my spontaneous harebrained ideas with aplomb! It's how I added almost 20k miles in one year, lol. ...I've been having a craving again. Soon?

not a big deal to run a tire with a plug. we have raced a BMW at daytona thst routinely had plugs.

I drive with plugs in my tires for extended periods of time with no issues so far. Service Manager harasses me a bit but hey i'm busy and the tires are still holding air.
