I will use Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC to explain my question, In your video DPS = 8.25, From Investing.com DPS = 7.25, In their financial reports, it says that "Dividend per share amounted to Rs.7.75 which translates to a dividend yield of 10.0% based on the share price recorded as at end December 2019" as well as the financial report says " Information on Dividends and Reserves are given below. »» First interim dividend paid on 15th May 2019 at Rs. 2.25 per share »» Second interim dividend paid on 5th September 2019 at Rs. 1.75 per share »» Third interim dividend paid on 15th November 2019 at Rs. 2.25 per share »» Fourth Interim dividend paid on 16th March 2020 at Rs.2.00 per share" =8.25 How can we choose the right one?

My guess it will be a bit hard for banks and other companies to give the same amount of dividend like last year. So the market prices will adjust accordingly. Best is to wait for the latest interim. And then consider the technical analysis and buy. If for long term investment above 6 years. The current market prices are really attractive . But the issue is most investors panic when they see a drop in the market prices and they trying to stop loss and exist. Stock market is a best investment. Patience is most important. Correct me if I am wrong. @Investor think - If possible do a video series on how to average a stock , reduce loss and when to average.. So that new investors won't lose their hard earned money.

I cannot understand why chevron lubricants is a good stock 🤔 because they are paying almost entire earnings or sometimes more than earnings as dividends and how are they planning to grow. But investors are chasing these stocks. Are they chasing because of the dividends? Then why don't they consider the company growth? Can you please explain?

Someone else also asked the same question before, possible scenario would be,as they import and redistribute lubricants, so if they have enough storage capacity to mach or exceed the local demand then they don't need to invest more on warehouses unnecessarily. No need of capital expenditure to be made. So part of increased margins redistributed as dividends. Not sure this is 100% correct, but its possible
