The nerd in me then says you need to find a way to light up each cartridge slot independently. Then hook them all up together on the wall with a big button on the side that says "I'm feeling lucky." and it will randomly light up a game to play. I'm doing something similar for my daughter so she can discover new games.

That is so cool. IMHO it's perfect if you have younger kids since the subject matter is much more wholesome than many PC games. My Son (now 26) went through half a dozen different consoles before settling on PC games. He does IT stuff, works at night, when he's not playing games with his friends. His biggest fun is fixing game bugs and glitchy mods then sharing them with his half dozen foreign friends. His dream job he thinks would be game development, testing and bug fixing. And it started with consoles like this.

You know what you could do that would look a whole lot better, be perfect for long term protection and storage, and be functional and esthetic? You edit the model down to a single bay and the buttons, then a cover with a notched hole so you can put a logo on each to know which is which. Then add a hole in the back for one of the compatible slot boards they make, then make an array of those on a switch that is routed into an OEM NES shell, and then you have a permanent display where you won't wear down the cards.

Thankfully the Bambu PETG-HF has one Red colour and one Black colour, but not sure which gray was used. They have both a light gray PETG-HG colour (or just Gray - 33101) and a Dark Gray - 33103. I'm going to assume it was the Gray 33101 as you mentioned it was lighter than the PLA Gray. Looking at my NES console, the bottom half seems to be a pretty dark Gray. I don't think people would go wrong with either gray colour of the PETG-HF being offered at Bambu. This may be a lengthy print, but I'll order these colours in PETG-HF and give r a go.

Just a confirmation on the number of games - There were 675 games released in North America (and other non-Japanese NTSC regions) You can technically play Japanese Famicom games on a North American NES as well (672 games released exclusively in Japan, bringing the total to just under 1350), but you would need to find a 60-pin to 72-pin adapter if you wanted to do that. You likely also want a different style of game holder for those, since they're shorter than NES cartridges (and colour-wise, you'd probably want it to be red and white to match the Famicom. Maybe with gold accents to incorporate the gold from the controllers) EDIT: Of course, I'm just talking about the Nintendo licensed games, and not any compilation, championship, or unlicensed games

I have to look at my NES cartrigaes to see which generation they are, I would 2-3 games a year so my collection is small. LUL The NES was my families first game system back in Chrsitmas of '89 and me and my Dad would play together as a tiny kid.

I have a problem with the new filament. It is only recognized for 1 second in the AMS and then it is thrown out again and is unknown. You cannot manually enter the PETG-HF in the slicer because it does not appear on the list (latest version is installed). Only found in the list in the Bambu mobile app

yet again i am wishing i bought the multi-color addon for my bambu. Originally i didnt bother since i primarily use it to print wargaming terrain, which i paint anyway. Yeah i can just paint the black/red but that requires extra effort and can rub off.

@@LoyalMoses I see. It is beneficiary for people to know. This video is like a promotion to the filament . They say it is a high speed filament, well, it may be true , but only in comparison. I achieve 39mm3 on 0.8 nozzle on qidi xplus with simple petg by a company named Torwell. It doesn't take long to run a calibration test from the slicer.

Should make the controller ports able to accept a controller and turn the connector into a key chain so it can plug in and hold your keys. Obviously that wouldn't be necessary for all of them but one or two if whoever had multiple games or not so many games

i wish i still had mine, but i'd never actually hook it up or use it. it's all online now a days through the Switch. i know, i know, it's not the same. the thing is, i work in games. so i've got way way too much stuff already that i don't use/isn't hooked up. i do still have my 2600, Genesis, OG Xbox, PS2, PS3, Wii, and a ton of retro PC games. some day when the kids have moved out and i have an extra room maybe i'll get it all hooked up and will pick up the consoles and games i'm missing.

@@LoyalMoses we just donated our 360 with about 70 games to a childhood friend of my wife. She's not very well off and has never had a console for her or her kids. We plan on doing the same sort of thing with the others that aren't super old.
