I’ve watched three videos and am fascinated with the red haired boy in the orange shirt. He is certainly extra.

This group was ahead of it's time, when it comes to diversity. Just look at this group! They have a Mike Brant Doppleganger, a Nancy Sinata doppleganger, and even a Native American guy. Now THAT is alot of inclusion for 1971!

Not a clue, They're pretty much keeping their identities a secret. Just know J Michael Reed and the little blonde girl with the pig tails is actress Patti Cohoon.

The young blonde girl is Kathy Colman, who went on to play Holly on land of the lost

I think that is Patty Cohoon who was a prolific child tv actress of the day. Kathy Coleman did live tour shows for the group I believe but Patty Cohoon did the Glen Campbell TV show appearances that we see here.

The character played by Rusty Keller in an episode of The Waltons and James at 16 is the redhead in the M. C. Congregation; the resemblance (facial features, hair and build) between the two is stunning. Unfortunately, I haven't found out anything else about Rusty since those appearances, and it's been over 40 years. Such a talented kid, it's surprising (and a shame) he didn't continue performing and making a name for himself. Lastly w/r/t the rumor of his getting killed at McDonalds 10 years after the M. C. Congregation performances, that would have occurred in the early to mid 1980s, which is well past The Waltons and James at 16 episodes. Maybe, with luck, we'll find out more about what happened with this guy.

My gosh, Mike Curb and his "Up with America" wannabe's, really bought in to the Bubblegum craze in almost every one of their videos back then. Their cartoonish, "hipster" costumes, and their cheesy, over-the-top choreography makes them look like live versions of "The Archies" and the gang from Scooby Doo!
