Some late reaction, You should know that the concert almost had to be cancelled due to serious symptoms of Jukka's Insomnia, but as they say "the show must go on!". He drummed this entire concert like a let loose demon suffering a (real) ginormous migraine (you can see somewhere in the video he's laying on his drumset, afterwards he said he tought his head was going to explode), what a commitment!!! Do Kai is a real good drummer too, I'm still very blown away by Jukka and in my opinion he was the best they ever had. (Hannes Van Dahl, friend of..., drummer of sabaton AND husband of Floor, sayd once "If there is a drummer that can do it all, it's powerhouse Jukka!)

@@beatnpotatoes Sometimes such claims are justifiable. This is not one of those times. It's rare, but it happens. Another is the cover of "Don't Stop At The Top" with Children of Bodom(though I'll be fair, that's more my preference, and ppl who don't get growling won't agree). Or Disturbed's "Sound of Silence"(which one of the creator agrees was made better by them, capturing more of its essence. Ironically both of them hates the movie/radio version that others love, which was tampered with by others illegally. But that is the one most ppl know it by from the start, and I too hated it. My father came by with the actual original once, and I agreed it was a lot better - But not as good as Disturbed's version).

I have heard an music director / producer say that this was not a cover of High Hopes....it was a "Tribute"! Covers can be done by anyone, and most of them are poorly done. This was a true tribute to the greatness that is Pink Floyd. Marko nailed the vocals...of course Tuomas was exceptional!!! Jukka....I have heard other reactors say that Jukka was ordinary! They obviously haven't listened to this song...he was freaking amazing!!! And now we get to Emppu....what can be said about Emppu...except he was spot on and freaking killed it! @L3onOfKings4 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, I love watching his passion on the drums. This is what I thought Bluray would bring to the world of concerts. I was expecting things like - having a single camera focused on each and every member of the band for the entire concert, plus the full produced version of the concert on the single Bluray disc. This way we could just select with our remote control which camera stream we wanted to watch at any given time. I have seen none of that. Has anyone done this, do you know?

This is one of the best covers of all time. I've always loved that song by Pink Floyd, and the first time I heard this, it literally blew me away.... Jukka, Marco, Emppu, Tuomas.... alllll of them absolutely kill it.
@SandraNelson0634 жыл бұрын
I've heard this several times, and it continues to SLAY me. In just the right way. THIS is how to do a cover, They didn't try to imitate the original, but instead put it through the Nightwish filter. They did it how THEY wanted to do it. Remember that when YOU are doing Nightwish covers. Do YOU! There was a lot of emotional baggage for the guys that night. They had decided that they had to let Tarja go. They had known for a long while that it wasn't working, and that she was ready to go anyway. They decided to do a clean, abrupt amputation. It worked out very well for her, as she was able to play the victim, and Tuomas was targeted as the bad guy. Which led to The Poet and Pendulum.
@nicod13614 жыл бұрын
Sandra so glad to see someone defending Tuomas & the band,thanks for that,I'm constantly trying to oppose those that come on to so many NW reactions to bad mouth Tuomas & the band & put Tarja on a pedestal of complete innocence and then try to diminish Floor & her vocal abilities. cheers

@@Songfugel confusing who with Anette ? not sure what your referring to ? I'm talking about the many people I see all the time ,not sure how you can miss them,that come on these reactions that are still after 15yrs resentful about Tarja leaving NW , bad mouthing Tuomas & yes constantly diminishing Floor's singing, if your not sure who I am referring to I would be happy to name them for you.
@AntonNidhoggr4 жыл бұрын
I´d like to appreciate Emppu. This guy usually doesn´t get much attention ))) Given that to beat Gilmour on his ground probably would be impossible, so Emppu did the solo in his own style (kinda) and I think it's very nice and matches the cover's style. p.s. Yes I know who you're talking about. We all blamed Tuomas back then! But now I'd say (unpopular opinion alert) that Nightwish music actually had become better in general sense after Tarja left. Now they like rely less on just a voice quality but make more complex arrangements and all.
@treintje10014 жыл бұрын
@@AntonNidhoggr Emppu does a great job here, I fully agree. Not many people can play Gilmore’s stuff and get away with it like Emppu did. Great job. About nightwish and the reaction above: yes, that pretty much sums it up. Good to see you can finally see things in the right perspective. What happened, happened because it needed to happen. Tarja and Nightwish had outgrown each other, and the relationship of the fanbase towards Tarja vs. the band had grown to unhealthy proportions, worshipping Tarja like she was some kind of godess. And of course Tarja’s own behaviour inevitably caused great tension in the band. Her dismissal enabled Tuomas to hire a completely different singer, which enabled him to change the musical style. Anette got a lot of hate, which she for the most part did not deserve, although her live performance was her weak spot. But she brought something new to the band, and so did Floor. In the end the band has grown much more mature, both as a band as well as on personal level, and the music has become more mature and versatile with better and more complex compositions than ever before. It’s good to see that now more of the fans recognise this and it’s good to see people stop focussing on the negative aspects that surrounded Tarja’s dismissal back then. Which is about time. After all, it’s 15 years ago. 😉🤘

This is a statement from Jukka (the drummer) talking about his tough decision to remove himself from playing drums for Nightwish on tour and on the next record due to heavy Insomnia: "My heart is in that drum seat,so the ultimate dream is to some day come back and do what i love the most". I know alot of drummers that love what they do,but i think the strongest words of passion came from Jukka. His heart is in that drumseat,so whatever he is doing now (handling management for Nightwish) he enjoys,but he is not truly happy until he knows he can drum again,preferably on a day to day basis. Everyone,even Floor was positive that he would return some day. But Floor just coming out of a burned out state of mind then,choosed her words more carefully. I see no reason why Jukka and Kai cant duo drum it out on certain songs. Im sure it would sound awesome! Regardless,i hope he recovers 100%....some day.
