I know to y'all it's a silly question,but what the reason for filling the block with concrete?

Not at all! The reason we filled the block is to help reinforce each cylinder wall and to try to prevent it from failing. We are still using a GM manufactured 400 sbc that came out of a station wagon and trying to push a lot of power through it. The blocks integrity is a gamble every pass! In the future we would like to buy an aftermarket block, this one is only going to hold on for so long. Also, when running methanol and your tune is correct, there is no need for water flow or any kind of cooling of the engine so it’s ok to completely block off and fill the coolant passages.
