Hey Luetin, you probably already know but just forgot but apparently to get a lock with macers you need your active radar on. Either way awesome vid as always, love the music choice.

No you don't go try it out. What makes a difference is if the vehicle has its engine running or not. Or if its dense tree cover as this guy was also it will struggle to locate and lock on. You can lock with AG with or without radar on. Its AA missiles that require Radar on.

Here is the Arma 3 wiki page showing all the vanilla weapons and most of the vehicles that have sensors. It shows what type of sensors, their coverage, and ranges for weapons. Macers are IR locking. Craig Barlow Your console would be fine because it wouldn't run the game at all. Arma has too many controls to be on a console. I don't think graphics would be too much of an issue, hypothetically, but I'm open to being wrong.

graphics and arma? I play it with integrated gpu, still had no money for a card :D i5 or above is sufficiant. I don't have Antialiasing and stuff, or shadows and reflections on water, but everything else is on high. I can't complain. .

Macers do not require a laser. Hit the lock on key from the targeting pod to lock on to the target

Im confused why you use regular site as opposed to Thermal/IR while in the targeting pod ? I find it easy to locate enemies with IR. Im assuming you enjoy the challenge? Regardless, amazing video as always ! Thank you.

Just be realistic, you don't need to run it on 60-80fps, although that would obviously be ideal You just need the game to run smooth enough for you to be able to do do stuff, my PC is at min. specs for everything except RAM for which I'm above the recommended and I don't have any problem playing & enjoying the game. MP sees me get between 30-40 fps depending on the server, player count & settings. Google 'Can I Run It'

You can't even get above 40fps with amazing specs. I had a rig with a GTX 950 and an i5 6400 and I was getting the same FPS as him on high settings.

the game is CPU bound... i can do 40-50 FPS depending on the server and the addons being ran client side, this is with a 4GB 960 and a i5 3470...

You're gonna' need more view distance than that to fly. I notice you're always losing visual because your view distance fades out. Isn't there a mod that allows you to change it separately in the air?

You're entirely right, however at the same time, I feel that the multiplayer experience is a lot more polished in DCS, the interface is actually usable, and it actually has proper support for different planes (whereas BMS just uses a modified F-16 FDM for all the other flyable planes) Both are great sims, and a lot of people (including me) play both. For newbs DCS is certainly a lot more accessible, with actual interactive tutorials, and a larger and more active community.

You couldn't get a lock on the tank because your active radar was off. Great mission, shows exactly what flying support is like.

that makes no difference mate go try it in the editor. Its AA missiles that require Radar on not AG.

Because being on the ground and spending 30 mins hiking to your target only to find your air support wiped it out 20 mins ago really sucks. Also its good sometimes to allow another team to get eyes on and approval before you kill everything in sight.

last time i watched one of your videos, i remember you explaining why you played bf3 on console. now you're playing a proper pc game. haha. the game is going to shit though. too many realism fools who play in recruit, pretending they're having fun but in reality all their doing is pressing w, looking at map icons, and talking to each other. i mean they can't even play in first person or on veteran+ difficulty without the bullshit assists. it takes them 10x longer to get something done. i don't even have to say anything about the role playing zombies or people playing watered down domination clones. this dlc is so stupid. they simply copied arma 2 addons(nimitz, pook sam, mando missiles). they hired only useless "developers" that can't seem to grasp the codebase. they can't even configure the ai suitably after all these years. ai pilots in arma 2 w/ invisible helipads are more reliable than ai drivers in arma 3. it's too rare to find old school arma players and too unfruitful to make the time for. i'm talking about the spirited TvT match, CTI, or just a coop, no respawn scenario.
