I at least expected a fireman's carry, guess he's not a real fireman either. love the sparring footage breakdowns tho, I hope to see much more of this in the future.

Great video. Thanks! A note on headside takedowns; there are moments where it just feels right, and sure enough more often than not you pull a successful takedown out of it. But be careful you don't send it so hard that you crack your head when you come down to the ground!(speaking from experience 🤕)

Central Michigan University. At the time of my attendance we were consistently ranked top 5 in the country and usually got the better of U of M! Since then the tables have turned lol

As someone who isn’t a wrestler or grappler I really appreciate videos like this because it shows me the errors and positions I can exploit. However the more I watch, the more fun wrestling looks. It’s a shame all the wrestling places around me are geared towards high schoolers 😅

Same! How can adults learn wrestling? I've picked some things up from BJJ but wish I had a wrestling class.

Jiu Jitsu gyms which offer high level wrestling are rare, to say the least, which is why I created The Effective Takedown System - link in the pinned comment above - a course which takes you from absolute beginner all the way to advanced on the feet. Split the price with a gym buddy and train takedowns together. Outside of moving to Michigan to train with me full-time it's the single best way to add takedowns to your game. Guaranteed (or your money back).

I had to specifically find a BJJ gym that offered it. 2nd option I tried: MMA gyms with old salty wrestlers or ex-MMA pros as instructors lol. Sometimes the class itself will just be called "MMA class" or "MMA clinic" but they'll almost always teach you wrestling/no-gi takedowns. Downside is that it's not quite as high-level as a straight wrestling class, but it gets the job done. 3rd option: Find a Judo/Sambo place. Tend to be pretty cheap too.
