Thanks for taking the time out with these videos. With the cost of these trucks its good to see how they hold up and you obviously use yours. Have you had to deal with any rock salt since you have had it? That stuff kills the underside. Good luck 👍

You should have the air suspension in normal mode, place the truck in jack mode, lower the trailer on to your hitch, connect the ball, raise the trailer using the trailer jack, connect the WD bars, lower the trailer jack, then drive the trailer away. I had the JGC with the air suspension and used the same process. The air suspension should never be used to raise or lower the trailer. You can check with FCA on this but I'm sure it is written in the manual. Looking forward to towing my trailer with my new 2020 1500 Limited EcoDiesel.

You’ve probably heard this by now, but for others, what I read elsewhere is that you need to have “Bed Utility Group” on the window sticker as an equipment option to get the bed divider/tailgate extension.

I have a 2020 big horn with a 3.0 and 3.92 rear end. As far as towing goes it's great and it still has pretty good fuel economy. I've done the same steering repair that you did. Personally I didnt want the air suspension so I went with out it same with the sun roof. As for the leaking sun roofs. I'm a mechanic and I found on other vehicles it's one of two things. The sun roof drains getting clogged or the gasket going bad. Majority of the time it's the drains. I usually suggest to people to get a snake (same tool to unclog toilets/pipes) and just run it through all 4 holes in the sun roof. It is possible for bugs to crawl in there and get stuck and die in these drains. My complaint but I knew it when I got the truck is that I cant have a 33 gallon tank in my current configuration (quad cab with a 6' bed).
@MrJustinWheeler
@MrJustinWheeler 4 жыл бұрын
Good to know! I will check out my sunroof drains and try to stay ahead of that problem. The 33 gallon tank is glorious. It feels great filling up and see 500+ miles to empty. Thanks for watching!

@@MrJustinWheeler it's just something I've noticed on other vehicle I'm pretty sure ram would follow the trend of other manufacturers in regards to the drains. I normally work on fords and toyotas. They normally are at the corners of the sunroof. I have a few guys who come in like at the end of summer and end of winter just to stay ahead of it as well. Yeah I figured that would be nice. No problem i was just curious about other problems that I may come across. Mine only has 10k on it now.

I have 2020 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4x4. I have the A/C problem,too. Sad part is Dodge Caravan A/C has 100% better A/C ( is a work van). What I miss is push a button on the door handle to open the door. My mistake was I bought a quad cab instead of crew cab due to big hump on passenger side, my husband is 6’2 feet tall. I love this truck is a lot smoother as my 2017 Nissan Titan SV 4x2.

I had a 2016 1500 Limited, with 3.21 gearing, and I traded it in at 167K. Never had any issues with the truck at all, other than usual wear items. I now have a 2019 Limited, and I have 56k on it now. So far the only issue was the dash delaminating. FCA replaced it. No issues as of yet. I have the 3.92 gears, it doesn’t get the fuel mileage I would like, but the pulling power is a lot better. I do like the 2019, a lot better than the 2016, but I would not hesitate on a gen 4 with air ride again.

When I bought my truck in March, they wanted $3700.00 for the extended 5 year warranty. The truck already comes with a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty. So that $3700.00 was just for the last two years of that 5 year warranty. I saved the $3700.00 and IF I have an issue, that $3700.00 will go toward the repair rather than gambling it on "I might have an issue"

Finally someone talks about the gearing. I had no idea until I got a 2021. My 2019 averaged a honest 18.5 mpg in a normal work week. It would also hum along at around 1800 rpm going 68-70 mph. I now have a Rebel with the "off road " package. With caution I can only get 16.3 mpg. My usual average is 15.8 The engine is also turning a tick over 2000 rpm at the same 68-70 mph. Lastly my 19 Rebel is 430 lbs lighter ( no Ram boxes spray liner) but still thats a lot. Love my truck however.

What gears do you have in your 19?
@Dragandspinn
@Dragandspinn 3 жыл бұрын
@@cgatesgates6631 IDK exactly, but since there are only 2 ratios Id say the taller of the 2 because of the lower rpm on the highway. The 21 is a bit snappier because of the shorter gearing. It makes passing easier without much effort. Honestly I like 21 Rebel better because it has more niceties so to speak. But my19 felt lighter on its feet (because it was lighter) and got much better gas mileage. Again maybe its the off road package.

Great video. I have a 2019 ram 1500 midnight edition. Overall I really love the truck but you are right about the A/C. It just doesn't blow as cold as other trucks I have had. The only other issue I have had is my front sway bar end link on the passenger side had to be replaced at about 8000 miles. I think the driver side is starting to go now. I live in the north east and in the summer I get about 15 mpg and 12 to 13 in the winter. I also have the 3.21 ratio. I think that's the number you said but I know it's not the higher ratio. Careful towing heavy with that 3.21 rear axle ratio. That setup is only rated at about 7,500 or 8,000 lbs. The Rambox divider but they never installed the bolts by the tailgate for the extended configuration. They say I have to buy that separately on my own after market which I thought was included with the purchase. I also tried loading the bed with a lot of things and the air suspension won’t lift the truck anymore. Question for you is how does your rear wheel fender look like? Just below the rambox. The part facing front, as it sticks out a bit. It’s just below the rear part of the side chrome lining. I have lots of chip damage there for some reason and I done even go off-roading that much. I'm not a small guy but I love the leveling kit on my tahoe as it allows me to have just enough room to crawl under and change the oil on my own. Also does the bigger touch screen allow you to change what's on the bottom half or does it always stay on the climate control and seat settings

You didn't have the BUG (Bed Utility Group). I had the Bed Utility Group (as well as the Rambox), and got the divider. I've heard from some people (and on the 5th gen forum) that the order the dealer added the BUG and Ramboxes plays a factor as well. The story goes (I can't confirm this one way or the other though) that if the dealer added the ramboxes first, then the BUG, it includes the divider and if they did BUG first, then Rambox, it does (or may) not. All I can tell you for certain though, is that I had both Rambox and BUG, and got the divider (I'm unsure what order the dealer did 'em in, for my truck).

In my opinion, it’s TBD. It has NOT failed me yet. However, I have noticed it making more noise and auto adjustments that it originally did. That hints to me that maybe some of the components may be developing a slow leak. This winter should be a good test.

Air ride is a noticeable improvement. I had a 2019 without air ride and my 2020 with air is a noticeable improvement - just getting in-out and ability to raise/lower when using the hitch is worth it to me. It's only a $1800 option, so one of the best value-for-money options available (other than perhaps the $200 additional for the eTorque engine)

2019 ALL RAM Trucks 1500, 2500 & 3500 with RAM boxes did not included the divider this was a change from 2018 I found this out because I took delivery of my 19 and there was no divider so of course I went back to my sales lady (that I have bought 3 trucks from) during our investigation into this issue we found out RAM stopped including the divider in 2019.... Very unhappy about that issue, I wish I would have known this I would have kept the divider out of my 18.

Ok so here’s the deal...I have a 2019 just like yours, sans air ride. It has been the biggest piece of crap vehicle I’ve owned yet...and I’ve had Fords! While you covered the air conditioning issues and sunroof leak...you failed to mention a huge issue for those of us that actually drive this truck in truck-intended conditions...i.e. dirt and gravel roads. The amount of dust that fills the cab while driving down gravel roads is simply insane. It hangs in the air and you can taste it! It has nothing to do with recirc on the hvac system but rather Dodge’s shit design of the rear cab-wall vents. This is a complete deal breaker as I primarily drive gravel roads...and dealer won’t acknowledge the problem and has no suggestions to remedy. I’m also not alone on this...other people are experiencing it, even pre-2019 models. Going back to Toyota. My Tundra delivered 270k miles of completely trouble free service. Fluids/tires/one set of brake pads/one battery. #ramremorse
