Videos like these are great for aspiring Porsche owners that are worried about engine failures and running costs. I’ve owned a 997CS for 2 years. It’s done 90k miles. I use it as a daily driver and put 20k Miles on it. I’ve had to replace a light bulb and had it serviced once. 2 new rear tyres and that’s it.

Just bought my first 911! It’s a 997.2 4S Cabriolet with 163k for $38k and I live in South KC! I was also in the market for a CLS 63s AMG but Porsche has always been my dream car!

Great video bro, Im a huge fan of the 997 and can’t wait to see where this car goes on your channel! Random question, but how does this car hold up with say an M4 or or newer 911’s speed wise?
@peytoncarvell3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! And truthfully in a straight line, the 997 Carrera isn’t too much of a winner. A newer m4 and 911 would take the win. But as far as the raw, true, analog, manual sports car feel? 997 will take the cake every day of the week. It’s raw, it’s simple, it’s got power, and it handles any road perfectly; corners, straights, and all!

Payton says it. It'll surprise a few,but its not the quickest. It'll pull to 180mph and very well planted. Top speed,180.

RIP your engine Why you rev it when it’s cold. Bore scoring remember
@SuperJammy13 жыл бұрын
Well you can't like you engine that much reving it so high with no oil temperature 😬😬

She’s made it 175k miles so far! 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

@@peytoncarvell yeah but last owners were probably more careful.just letting you know bro.they say that can be one of the causes of bore score.have one myself and won't rev past 3000rpm without oil temperature.

@@peytoncarvell Revving with cold oil is biggest killer of engines over time. Its done 175k miles because the engine was regularly serviced and allowed to get up to running temperature. The only excuse for revving cold is not understanding how oil lubrication works. I cringe watching this having owned multiple Porsches of this era. Unless you're planning to rebuild the engine what the hell are you doing-

@@allthingsmotors1763 Revving the car with cold oil one time for a video isn’t going to annihilate the motor. Not sure why everyone is so up in arms about this. I take good care of the car and make sure it warms up before ever doing any spirited driving. Again, one time for a video won’t be the death of it.

Agree with OP, u don’t want to rev that past 3K rpm until operating temperature is up. Not saying just saying. Thx u for the vid tho have an 06 4S 144K had since new.
