I've read all of the books so far and some of the comics which are not retelling the books. The comics are giving a history of some of the ancient vampyre priestises that are mentioned in the ctual books.

I've been waiting for this for a whole week and I'm so HAPPY. I hope they do another motion comic from the House of Night, I think Dark Horse did a great job with this first one. This series deserves a lot of attention from people. It's so well thought out and is just down right gorgeous and lovely. I own and read all of the books, the handbook, novellas, the myth book, and comics so far in the H.O.N. series and it's going to drive me crazy waiting for the next book to come out in October XD

Awesome, yeah I just looked some of the stuff up, and apparently after this in Europe there would be completely preserved bodies laying in dug up graves, and they believed it to be a vampire pandemic when in reality they were never really dead in the first place. The swollen lymph nodes on their neck caused them to look like they were bit by a "vampire" and as such had to "die" a second death. Great stuff mann, thanks for the response!!

I like the ending ditty, good cover to the old ragtime split that broke the pace of the Secret. This keeps you in the mood, the previous one felt like exiting a theater to tinny music.

there is MUCH more to these books.and the vampires are actually uncomfortable in the sunlight and no they don't sparkle.and they aern't turned by a bite.the mark shows that they are chosen by Nyx.and plus the mark kinda shows like their personality or what they are destined for.it's not just a mark

This story definitely has some potential. I hope that there will be more episodes following this one! I definitely like it better than the Umbrella Academy clip from last week, and the setting could make for some pretty interesting storytelling!

Not bad, the animation was much tighter than the other ones, I think. Feels like a bit more than paper cutouts, which I know it basically is, but it was very apparent before. May have been a bit quicker paced than I'd like, but you can certainly understand the story anyways. I'm definitely liking where this is going.

There are fundamental differences between Svartalfar and Dwarves namely their physical descriptions and their disposition to start with. It's just some of my friends are from Denmark and others from Koppenhagen and they have two very different dwarves I was just getting some clarification.

Best animated so far. Best voice acted so far. This should have been 4 times longer with more plot. I enjoyed it more then Umbrella, but not as much as Secret. All in all, these show promise. They just need a little more follow through. G+S all the way!

Have you ever read Dark Horse Presents? If not I think you would find them interesting. They are a collection of short stories...some shorter than others....like this one. The stories themselves are usually no more than a few pages. it's Dark Horse's version of Heavy Metal essentially.

I don't think Nyx in the House Of Night world is the actual Greek Goddess. I was just saying that in Greek Mythology she was the deity of night in response to your comment about her being a water god. In the House Of Night books Nyx is the goddess of the vampyres.

It is to this show's credit that I found it to be too short. The best produced comic so far, the House of Night has better VA work than the others. I am glad to see the quality is improving with each taste of the Dark Horse stable of comics. As far as the content of the comic, I didn't mind the Pagan vs Christian tension. I am curious to see what the Elemental Vampires can do. Are they like the vampires of the Vampire Academy? Lastly I did the Norse background and the Let the Right One In feel.

Maybe I can explain why Nyx looks different. In myths gods and goddesses can take on many forms. One example of this is in the Aeneid, when Aphrodite appeared to her son Aeneas in the form of a huntress. Nyx probbaly looks different with every situation. In the comic since the scene is set in Norway, then of course Nyx would be in that culture's clothing. But she always appears as a beautiful Goddess.

Romanian myth actually has no real mention of vampires oddly enough. Werewolves a plenty but no vamps. Transylvania had no link to them until an Irish writer made one. The rest of Europe however is loaded with stories of them. ;)

Actually there are Romanian myths about vampires, namely the Moroi and Strigoi have quite a few similarities with the modern concept. Though they don't really fit perfectly the stories spawned from the legend of Vlad Tepes.
