I have two Donners, the DST-400 and the thinline telecaster. Very pleased with both. I don't ever plan to play a gig, so they don't need to be some kind of super guitar. It's just me practicing and jamming in my man cave. The quality of the guitars feel better to me than a squire. I've had a couple of those, too, but it is the Donners that make me want to pick up the guitar and play.

Very cool guitar and video/review! On their website it says it is 499.99 with a coupon for 20% off, so $400 basically. Seems like a good deal, especially with the nice gigbag included.

I have a donner strat. It's not bad but needed new tuners, fret ends sanded, and action lowered. Still not a bad deal for $120 or whatever it was.

agreed... great-looking guitar... Alnico V sounds... the alder body might not be a 'tone wood', but it's certainly a 'tone could'... Donner looks/sounds to have a winner here...

Since Fender have been way too expensive for what you get recently. This, the HB stuff and Soloking have been getting attention and are very much better in some ways than Fender MIM stuff IMO.

The big difference is Squier won't use alder for the body. It's poplar or agathis or basswood. And I'd say the hardware on the was nicer than my last Classic Vibe, more like my Classic 60s Strat.

Sure, but these run under $400. You just have to apply the codes for the discount. Not many used Fenders under $400 these days. And the quality is better than Squier, without a doubt. Basically, it's an $1149 Vintera II Fender for $399.

Actually, under $400 with coupon. And I don't think there's another brand offering an alder body at that price. It would almost certainly be poplar or basswood. Squier doesn't do alder, and neither does HB. So if you want alder, this is easily half the price of the cheapest Fender Strat with an alder body. I'm a little surprised at how this is lost on so many people.

For 400€ you have a Classic vibe or harley benton ST modern plus, i think its really better than donner (kebab)

I agree. They are a bit of a known Amazon score for bones guitars. I think these will get knocked to 249 in a year...over stocked. Not saying they aren't worth it. Just the a tough sell at that price with that name.

I have the fusion T first or second run 2019. It's held up other than the cheap switch I need to replace from bridge losing power at times needing a bump. But the rest is solid. So the .modern st hss I have seen recently put out is stupid CRAZY good specs. If at all like the fusion line quality these are the way.

$400 for a donner?! Really? Isn’t that the same thing as a Glarry? For the money, I don’t think it’s better than a Squire. Yes it sounds good but, it’s a bad investment considering it has poor resale value.

Donner is definitely better than a Glarry. My first guitar was a Glarry. I practiced and played it every day for three months. When I got my Donner DST-400 I basically had to relearn how to play. The back of the neck on the Donner feels like it's not even there, it is so smooth. The Glarry took more effort to play. The Donner is so much easier to play, especially cords. I've had a couple Squire Affinity guitars. The quality of the Donner DST-400 is a little better. I believe the Squire market is what Donner is going for, and I my opinion, they are beating them. Costing much less than a Squire helps too.

Who said it was $80? These are $499 and with a coupon discount it falls to $399. It might the only guitar with an alder body at that price. All the other s-style at that price point are either poplar or basswood bodies.
