I like how this episode helps show the idea that kids don't procrastinate because they are rebellious or don't care about the assignment. Spongebob genuinely cares about it and wants to do it but just has a hard time getting that initial part of it going, and once he does the rest was easy for him (which is kinda how it always was for me in school).

I'm surprised you were able to included the deleted scene in this reaction. everything between him beginning the essay and him saying he feels the creative juices flowing in his brain was cut from the episode after a year or two of the episode airing. I didn't even know there were some places where the scene was kept in. nevertheless, this was still a good video. it's always fun to see your reactions. it always makes my day. also if you haven't seen it already, there's an episode from season 1 that introduced Mrs Puff. it was Season 1 Episode 9, Boating School. you can check it out if you want.

For some reason, Paramount+ and nearly every TV broadcast since 2019 have this scene uncensored. My guess is that Nickelodeon was 'HD remastering' all the episodes and when they got to this one they went "Hold on, why did we even censor this again?" The scene is REALLY tame compared to what later seasons could get away with.

@@ranelgallardo7031 I can see a couple of reasons they might have trimmed that section out. The moment with Patrick putting lotion on Sandy's back has become a bit of a meme, like someone else said, actually very tame still, but it is a bit of an unusually suggestive moment between those two characters that maybe they didn't want to be canon. The other is the car that crashed during his fantasy about having his license - that was a real crash with a real person involved. It's entirely possible, if someone was killed or injured in that crash, that they got approached by a family member or something who felt it was disrespectful that they used the clip for comedic purposes. I'm completely speculating, but there's only so many reasons.....unless like it's been said, it was trimmed for commercials.

As a graduate student who suffers heavily from procrastination, the scary imagery and fearing looking at the time: they are real! Procrastination feels like that for me sometimes. This episode hits so close to home for me now that I am older. That being said, I found the school library is good at curbing my procrastinating. Don't know why.

While not a school episode, I definitely recommend the episode "Sailor Mouth" cause it deals with when children (or young adults in SpongeBob's case) learing curse words and consequences from it. This episode is pretty relatable to me. I always did my Homework at school, because there I could focus on it better. If I didn’t get a chance to do it at school, I’d end up not doing it at home and do it at school the next day. Of course you can probably surmise that wasn’t very effective when it came to more long term projects, or ones where I needed something from home.

I’m so glad I discovered this channel !! Very real reactions !!! I graduated high school In 2020 so a lot of the things this guy says I have seen in my high school and grade school. It’s crazy going back as an adult and watching SpongeBob and you truly see the messages. A lot of other cartoons don’t age well for adults but SpongeBob has been one cartoon that actually holds up for adults and I even go back and watch it !

I learned at 30 that I’ve had undiagnosed ADHD my whole life, which explains so, so much. I learned to drink coffee to stay up all night in the 4th grade to do all my advanced class projects the night before due date. A note: when they tell you that putting your *elementary school* kid in a bunch of advanced classes will “look good on a college application,” they’re lying, and your kid might end up with 4 big projects a week, anxiety, and sleep deprivation. Not saying kids can’t benefit from more advanced classes if they’re ready, but it was insanely more work than a regular class, so make sure the expectations are fair and reasonable before committing your kid to it. Also in later years it can turn what could be a normal straight-A kid into an advanced B/C kid, and a straight-A kid generally gets into colleges before an advanced B/C kid.

I could write what not to do at a Traffic Light, but that would not take 800 words. - No running it - In Germany there is no Right on Red, we have the Grünpfeilampel instead - Staying at the red light when a ambulance is approaching, you can slowly drive into the crossing in that case. - The red light at train crossings has the same power - Burnouts are not allowed - If the phase just went to red, leaving the car running - Blocking or using the bicycle path - When turning right on the crossing, not checking for traffic coming from behind or ahead (Längsverkehr in German, my busdriver made that fault when he ran over a cyclist)

What this episode exemplifies is ADHD, something I still struggle with to this day. Often times you have to pretend that you are interested in a otherwise mundane task. Only way I got though college. Thing is though I would put in 75 percent of the work in the beginning and put off the last 25 percent.

i myself had procrastinating issues in high school. however, in college i found a system, so if there's any young students reading this, see if my system works for you! so we are given a deadline (usually not the next day), roughly the next week, right? so the day you are given the assignment paper, read it over twice. underline importance's of the paper like the topic of the essay and the length. day 2, just set up the essay format (if its being taken on computer). like write your name the date and the title of the essay. these next steps im going to use from my college experience so do modify these next steps based on your given necessities. day 3 write just 2 paragraphs (5 to 7 long complete sentences). day 4 write 3 paragraphs. and day 5 write the remaining paragraphs needed. (most essays in college are based by page and word count, so its very important you use as many words as you can. i usually got away with 8 paragraphs because of my wording) the final 2 days are used for proof reading. if you are able to turn the assignment in early like i was in college, i HIGHLY suggest you use every day you can. you can read it over, a friend could read it over, a family member, or even another teacher if you ask. separating your time wisely is how you beat procrastination on ANY topic. an essay, a craft project, a business haul if you commission, ect. I hope my method in time management helps some of you!

i think, back when i first saw this episode in third grade (2001, right after 9/11) - i bet i was thinking i would never have to do anything like this. i also wasn't entirely capable, at the time, to even write sentences for vocabulary words. lo & behold - come 12th grade & college, my mom made her plans to move in with her partner/boyfriend (now offically husband/my stepdad) a state away. the help i got would be sequestered to an, at the time, near-defunct TLC program. even before the program was gone for good - this part was not on purpose (yet i was still accountable for procrastinating) but i would save all my assignments, essays/write-ups for the witching hours - where my sleep-deprived mind was prone to being more creative & yet still very much cramming it all in by that point. i did care so much about 'perfecting' these essays to the point it was barely even remotely fun for me. so, i've moved on to trying other things & finding what will i will stick by. it may in fact be something to the effect of the reactions that this principal here is doing - focusing on any music in media, the context behind their own stories they may tell, & the exact stories they are adapting for.

Growing up I had no idea what the title of this meant or had to pronounce it 😅. Also in the televised version that scene at the beach was deleted for a while or still is in the televised version. Cause I guess Patrick putting sunblock on Sandy was inappropriate. All that was in between 'Gee this is harder than I thought.' and 'I can feel those juices pumpin now.' was deleted. I always feel so called out whenever this episode plays. ^^;; LOL What are your thoughts on ADHD? Have you dealt with students who've struggled with it? And would you by any chance have any tips that can help with procrastination that can be brought on by ADHD?

People with ADHD often work with teachers on developing skills that will help them be successful. Everyone with ADHD is different, but in general, students work to maintain better or develop time management strategies. My advice to someone with ADHD wouldn’t be that much different than someone without it. It is okay to take breaks or step away for a short time, but with limits. Many people use their phone as a timer to time a reasonable break (5-10 minutes) so that the task is not neglected like in SpongeBob’s case. Thanks for watching! 😎👍
