There was a gentleman that lived in my building that was a guard in the hospital where Sunny Von Bulow was being cared for. He told me how she was delicately cared for in her comatose condition. He told me about how she would move from time to time and how the nurses woulld attend to her grooming necessities . He would describe how serene she looked. Sadly my elderly friend passed away a year ago.

I remember this case well. Sunny was one of many ultra wealthy American women who married poor European Royalty and bought titles during the 50s & 60s as an elitist social enhancement that was the fashionable thing to do at the time. Most of European Royalty were bankrupt and dethroned after the Depression and Wars, but still liked the luxurious lifestyles, hobnobbing with the wealthy and were not used to having to work for a living. Many of these marriages were opportunistic and unhappy despite their public images. Many divorced when the women tired of their entitled impervious ways and the bed hopping that they were used to. The royals often received a nice Go Away Settlement that they could live off of. Von Bulow's ruthlessness, greed and narcissistic nature revealed itself on his face. He looked the part and got away with attempted murder. Getty his former employer, supported him financially during his trial and appeal. At least the children ensured that he did not benefit financially from Sunny's funds & estate and would not be near her risking her life any further. Von Bulow was a dark and creepy man.

Just 27? Back in the 60s, by 27, she should have had 3-4 children, had she not been Sunny. I lived in DC when all of this was going on. It seemed like each night, this was the lead story. It was so sad, and just the name "Klaus Von Bulow" became synonymous, with having a husband who meant to kill. I had no idea that she'd lasted as long as she did. She was a very troubled woman, and he was a gold digger.

@@notpurrfect6397 you were right the first time, it's Andrea Reynolds who was his girlfriend during the trial(s) era and who featured in the light-on-facts Dominick Dunne Vanity Fair article. Alexandra Moltke Isles had broken up with von Bulow and was out of the picture long before the illnesses/comas, etc. (although she was called upon to testify in at least one of the trials). She herself is descended from both Danish nobility and some of the most prominent Knickerbocker families ever to live in New Amsterdam or New York. Of course she is best known not for the von Bulow mess, but as Victoria Winters, the young governess around whom all the gothic drama of Dark Shadows revolved in the early years of the show. The first couple hundred episodes of that show started with her intoning "my name is Victoria Winters ..." Isles, her married name, connects her and her son to the Lehman Brothers dynasty.

You know I have always said I’ll give Alan Dershowitz the respect he deserves as an Attorney, and he currently does do some good for young Lawyers today. But reminding ourselves that people like him make themselves INSANELY RICH, on the backs of Top Notch, First Grade, Cold Blooded Murderers. Oh I know the term they love to spout. It’s not what you know, it’s what you can prove? Well, I suppose that is indeed true. But ONE DAY….ONE DAY GOD will judge each and every one of us. And I truly have a clear conscience knowing that “I” didn’t help free murderers. But that’s just me!

I remember this true story quite well. It is very sad such a pretty woman. It would be unfair for me to blame her totally for falling into a coma if indeed she did not take care of her own health, but I was always suspicious of Clause Von Bulow (marital problems, meds stashed away in a suitcase in a closet, the accounts of her maid, the mistress, and the evil of all money money). Her two older children were on her side and Cosima the youngest on her dad's side. Ultimately there is the one they have to face upon death and I am sure they already did. I was relief to read that Sunny was treated very well and with respect and love all the years she was in coma. May God give her soul eternal peace 💐✝
