I remember a time when this train station was so tiny, the trains had to make more then one stop to let all the people out. Only 2 cars at a time could fit on the platform. Then the train would move up, let the next 2 cars unload & so on until everyone got off.This was back in the 70's.

Also the HHP-8's are by far my favorite regional train locomotive. I only saw one once.
@amtrak7069 жыл бұрын
They became an endangered species very quickly. Before the ACS-64s were coming, I used to think of them as getting in the way of seeing AEM-7s, haha. But they turned out to be the first to go.

Let us have a moment of silence for all the ALP 44s, HHP8s, Arrow IIIs, and all Comet cars pre V versions that will be soon laid to rest...
@amtrak7069 жыл бұрын
Connor Callahan When are the Comets and Arrows going?
@connorcallahan19159 жыл бұрын
Amtrak706 Well the Arrow IIs that started service in 1974 were all decommissioned in 97 so best guess is that the Arrow IIIs which started in 77 will be retired soon (within the next 5 years from now). The Comet IV series will still be around for a while (At least 5-10 years before the number of them dwindle(I think that the old NJT comet livery was the best)) but Comet III will be going out within the next 5 or so years. Numbers of all those railcars are dwindling as the delivery rate of the newer version increase and as the bi level cars are becoming more popular. By the way great video! Subbed.

@@connorcallahan1915 It was quite interesting to see the predictions of a rail fanner from 6 years ago. Arrow 3s are still going strong. Comet 4s are still going strong, comet 3s are retired and comet 2s are still doing fine too. Most trains are also still not bi level

amtrak should use there superliners on the nec
@amtrak7069 жыл бұрын
***** Superliners are too tall for many of the tunnels on the NEC, namely the tunnels into New York Penn Station. That's why Amtrak uses single level stuff and NJT uses single level and special clearance multilevel cars. Also the Superliners are limited to 100 MPH.
