Police helicopter footage captured the moment a stolen Land Rover ploughed through a 6ft high maize field to try to evade officers, before returning to the road and causing a fatal crash. Marcin Jablonski, who was behind the wheel of the stolen vehicle, was over the legal drink-drive limit when he smashed into a Nissan Juke on the A143 at Earsham, Norfolk Police said. The driver of the Nissan, 28-year-old Aisatou Mballow-Baldeh, died at the scene on August 13 last year. #policechase #Deadly #crash

@@tobyrose6906"Death by dangerous driving". Carries life imprisonment. Murder requires there to be some level of intent. As dangerous as this was, it was still an accident, he didn't mean to kill anyone, but he did because of his obviously dangerous driving so that's probably the best offence.

@@ultra_vires Basically the police where calling the incidents RTA's (road traffic accidents). Now technically and 99% of the time those collisions are the fault of one driver and therefor not an accident so the police took advice and changed them to RTC's (road traffic collision)! This is a RTC , to be an accident can be something like faulty vehicle or bad design etc. it is not the scenario here.

@@Tb61035it’s murder mate it’s manslaughter if it’s accidental if you are in a police chase and driving recklessly and then crash and kill someone that is no longer manslaughter as you have already understood the severity and the potential repercussions are from doing said activity. By your logic this person should have the same sentence as someone who’s brakes gave out which resulted in death if you can tell the difference between these 2 scenarios it should be pretty obvious it’s 3rd degree murder.

We see these incidents on Police TV programmes night after night, and the sentencing is pathetic. There is no deterrent. These sorts of tragedies are sadly inevitable under such circumstances.

@@johnpayne6196 Capital punishment costs more than a life sentence in prison. Capital punishment comes with lengthy legal battles for the government. If you want an example look at Texas that on average spends over 2 million dollars per execution.

it would be manslaughter, there's nothing that says it was premeditated however it's more likely they'll get charged with death by dangerous driving which unfortunately has a max sentencing guideline of only 14 years. Since this is while evading the police it'll likely be high culpability which I think means a minimum sentence of 7 years but I can't be 100% sure on that.

@@fzrshinydoes no one know the law if you are in a police chase that ends in a fatal crash that’s murder as you understood what the potential consequences are from being in the chase it’s murder manslaughter is if there was never an intention to put someone in harms way but then it ended in death you think this guy should be charged with the same amount of time as someone who’s brakes gave way and resulted in a fatal crash do you now realise the difference

As a retired San Diego cop it'sgood to see expandable batons in use. I remember when British cops first got them. That said most of our stolen cars have crooknoids armed with guns. It's been over 30 years since I rode along with Basingstoke and Cambridge constabulary and you're still doing it without firearms.

Going 'no comment' is the best way to get charged if there's some evidence against you, as you're not contesting, confirming or denying the allegation. So if you give the cops 'no comment' and there's enough to charge, then you're potentially waiving any defence you could bring up in court later, because "you do not have to say anything, but it may harm your defence if you do not mention (...) something you later rely on in court"

Theee should be stricter regulations for those rolling weapons on the road. Also, tighter controls for amy driving license and regular reassesmsmts . Mamy cars are now more deadly than a weapon. Public is almost as dangerous as Americans with their guns.
