A behind the scenes look at a trampoline shoot that was done using hi speed sync. 8 600 EX RT Speedlights, and a ST E3 RT Transmitter. Works GREAT!

Dave, very cool, I also replaced all of my 580exlls and Radio Poppers with the Canon 600rt system. Now I can trust the flashes will go off every time and are easy to control from camera.

Wow - Great Stuff. Soo Creative !! Your model had the Lon Chaney (Fantome) look after the first take. Many thanks for sharing the configuration of lights. Amazing post work as well - really like the different orientations: left vert, right vert, and standard.

Excellent, thanks for the behind-the-scenes. Is there any disadvantage to leaving the 600ex-rts & ST-E3-RT in high-speed sync mode all the time? My understanding is in that mode sync is maintained for the lower shutter speeds as well.

This is really cool. If you were to do this again, would you go for the godox lights? What lights would you go for?

What is the shutter speed sync rate of the 600 RT speedlite with Yongnuo E3 RT Transmitter? Can we go upto 1/8000 shutter also??

Great idea and results! I do wonder though why did you use high speed sync since it is possible to freeze the action just by taking advantage of short flash duration?

+Danial Daneshmand I was shooting outside in open shade during daylight hours. Too much ambient light

Oh, yeah... Question -- the transmitter you had set on manual, the flash on ETTL. Did you leave all the flashes on ETTL, or set them to M as well?
@davidschlatterphotography
@davidschlatterphotography 9 жыл бұрын
greenophotography The transmitter is set to manual so it controls the flashes. I left them in ettl, but still controlled them manually at camera

I have been using the flashes quite a bit. I use my camera on manual along with the flashes. I know my fstops for 1/2 power at 3 of my paces(8-10 feet) when I shoot. I can set them up with only having to make minor adjustments. Took my first shots and adjusted the background lights. Second shot dialed in the key light. All the adjustments are from camera, the ST-E3-RT. Its a cool set up. I picked up a Elinchrom 1100 RX. I have been using that along with the 600's. I can get the high speed sync using them in conjunction. It allows a lot more power. Just ordered a second one too! Woohoooo! The 1100's are super heavy, less mobile tho. But they are still cool. Show less

Thanks for sharing. Very cool once your experience makes you handle complex lighting with only little adjustments, thumbs up mate. Love the power packs, makes everything except carrying so much more conveniant and powerful. And I totally agree, having the TTL master device is great when things get complex. It is quite pricy though for hobby photographers. So for everyone who has to cut down expenses there's the Yongnuo YN-E3-RT, which is basically the same as the ST-E3-RT, even looks the same (chinese engineers are so creative). That and the Yongnuo Speedlite YN-568 EX (TTL & HSS) should be good enough for the start. Keep up the good work, like your style a lot!

Daves Digs Amazing shots!, Just as a matter of interest, how would you trigger the Elinchrom, assuming you have the st-e3 trigger on the camera, and what shutter speed was used in the video above?

I originally had radio poppers. I don't think nikon has there versions yet. Unfortunately, radio poppers can get expensive for multiple units. I found them a bit temperamental and finicky at times. There just wasn't a great deal of consistency. The canon flashes work seamlessly, they have been flawless for me.

Over $6000 of Flash equipment. Not for the rest of us, I think. Maybe with a bunch of Yongnuo 600ex-rt knockoffs, I guess.
