Wow, I have just watched a full 3 day class followed by another 3 day on studio strobes because I've been trying to learn the Yongnuo YN-E3-RT II trigger with my 2 Yong. YN600EX-RT II speedlites; There was maybe a total of 3 or less minutes where they mentioned "Oh, and you can use a trigger too." Instead of a lightbulb flashing over my head when I finally "get" something, they basically turned the light off and locked me in with no food!! SO- when I found this video completely by accident earlier, I was hearing that angel-choir "AHHH" sound and a whole 'GROUP' ;-) of lights went all stroboscopic, lol. And even tho this is for the original and the display/menu's slightly different, they do the exact same thing and YOU MADE MY DAY!! Thank you so much for posting this, it goes to show even 4 yrs later this information is so vitally important to anyone learning!! And now I am gonna see (just cuz) if there is a separate vid on the 'RT II model. I learned more in 8 mins than 2 full 3 day courses on a 'creative' learning site! Somebody should be paying YOU to teach live streaming classes, for getting straight to the goods without hours of filler!! Thanks again, I finally got excited for off -cam flash again!

This is a great video!! I am new to flash photography and I bought the speed light first, and then ordered the trigger unit immediately after I got the flash because I already knew that I was going to want to get that bulky flash off of my camera to do more of the artistic portraiture that I had envisioned. These two products opened an entire new world of photography!!! I am on a very tight budget and you can't beat the price and functionality. Great video. Thanks bro!. Just purchased YN-E3-RT and 3 YN600EXs. This is all the tutorial i need. I have subscribed and will be coming back to check for updates. My little take away from researching the RT system when using YongNUO products is always to apply latest firmware update when things do not seem to work (when you're sure everything is setup correctly). Another one I have heard is to make sure you turn off the power-saving feature....where the flash will automatically shut-off if not in used. I've read about some link issues associated with this. So, the best thing is to turn this feature off. Thanks for a great tutorial!!!

I would like to see more videos on the flashes and how you use the ratios when shooting. I think they came up with a great affordable product for entry to intermediated photographers. I just got my second Yongnuo YN600EX-RT II today to go along with my other Yongnuo YN600EX-RT II and Yongnuo YN-E3-RT. After following this video all three worked great. One thing I noticed is that after installing fresh batteries ( and they also warn you not to use LiFePO4 and/or Li-ion batteries use only alkaline or NiMH batteries ) I noticed that unit will not turn on. There was an issue with the metal contacts in the battery compartment. After cleaning out the contacts it finally worked. Really didn't know what that wall all about.

Thanks for this video. It's stopped me going mad! I had two YN600's working perfectly with the E3 but not my third. I could NOT work it out. Until I found this video and the point about flash ID's. Bingo! One of my flashes had a different ID (my fault I was playing with it) so I set all the units with the same ID and they all locked together perfectly. Thank you.

As to your question, unfortunately, one of the features that is missing is the ability to control zoom. it is built into the 622 series and it leaves me wondering why it wasn't included on these. But, it is what it is and unfortunately, we have to manually adjust the zoom at the flash when needed..maybe (not holding my breath) it will be included in a future firmware update...

Michael Dande in the custom functions menu, to get there press and hold the C.fn button.. Then scroll until there is a speaker icon, select it and switch it to off.

Thank you in advance for offering assistance on Yongnuos. I have two YN600EX-RTs that I use together inside of a 24" Medium Apollo with a YN-E3-RT transmitter. I have them both set up as ETTL in tandem. One of the flashes does not behave like the other. One of them automatically syncs with the transmitter and the other one does not. On the one that does not, I need to press the Trigger button several times before the Linked light glows green. One of the reasons I though of for the disparity in their function could be caused by having different firmware. Three questions: 1) What is causing the disparity between the flashes?2) How can I know what version of firmware is running in these flashes and, 3) How can I upgrade? (I have an Apple computer.)

The flashes are firing… but the image is black as if the flashes are not going off. I’m assuming this is because the syncing of shutter to flash is somehow off?? Can you help me with this?

Great video, my YN-E3-RT and YN600EX-RT arrived yesterday. I purchased these to use with my Canon 600ex-rt. I set the id's on the three units and find that the Canon flash fires 1 second after the YN. Is there a way to sync them so they fire at the same time? Planning to use the setup at an event this weekend but the delayed flash will not work for me.

Extremely helpful. I use the YN-E3-RT in MANUAL mode to control my Canon 600 EX-RT in MANUAL mode. Works great BUT maxes out at S:1/250th. Using your video helped me do so. Thanks! QUESTION: I just bought a YN 600 EX-RT II for the HSS capability. Can I setup the HSS but also somehow trigger the Canon 600 EX-RT to flash when from either the YN-E3-RT or the new YN 600 EX-RT II?
