I love how Jay took your advice for the dips, and then just adopted it straight out because it worked for him rather than making up some BS about why he prefers it his way and go back to that just because he’s “THE Jay Cutler” and has been doing it that way forever. He just takes the useful information and adapts to improve. Says a lot about his mindset that helped him to become so successful. *EDIT* Thank you to those of you who have chosen to comment because it's always nice for me to be reminded of the time our beloved Mountain Dog took the time to ❤️ one of my comments on a years-old video during his final days of life. May God bless the soul of this true gentle giant, and bless and protect the family he is so proud of every day of their lives. I don't know how long KZbin will exist, but to all who see this in the future: Let this comment serve as my sincere eulogy to a great man who built a beautiful life for himself and then decided to use the rest of it to help other people have beautiful lives too. That is as consequential as a man can hope to be in this world, and this world will miss John Meadows, or as his fans will likely lovingly remember him as: the proud father of our favorite Yo-Yoing prodigy of all time :) Rest Peacefully John 🙏

Two true Legends!! I feel lucky to have watched that! Just turned 50. Been in the gym since I was 12. You learn something new everyday. Can't wait to get to the gym tomorrow!

What a real honor, John 👍. I worked out with Kevin Levrone in Las Vegas during the 2010 Mr Olympia. Priceless!

I thought something was wrong with me I didn't get mind muscle connection for the first year of lifting..Now I'm getting it finally Jay is correct it takes time..Wish someone would of told me this..

As someone whos underweight, you have to develop a muscle to connect with in the first place!

I agree, not sure if it’s bro science or not though. I noticed a direct correlation between lagging body parts and mind-muscle connection. I noticed once I started isolating a bit and developing more muscle, my mind muscle connection improved and I completely blew up from that point on.

Agreed! Once you really know what the muscle does, such as adducting the humerus across the body, it is much easier to find the mind-muscle connection. I always focus on using the muscle to move the weight first and worry about ROM second. When flexing the pecs and bringing the arms towards the middle of the body, there is no need to lockout. As Jay shows, that only takes the tension off the muscle. Good stuff!

I’ve met Jay on three different occasions and I cannot overstate how nice of a guy he is. They say don’t ever meet your hero’s. I really looked up to Jay for many years and in this case I couldn’t have imagined a better man. Dude also guest posed about a month after 2009 O. I’ve never seen legs like that in my life!! Outstanding!

I never put two and two together, but thinking back to those interviews with Jay where he talked about how they used to train in brutally cold weather wearing snow boots and stuff - yeah, I'm surprised he and John haven't worked together before. Two AMAZING lifters!
