I like the bush guard a bit rusty - it’s got the work truck look. You need a receiver winch to fit front or back

Hey Matt, cool truck, job well done. I like that: you need a truck, you build yourself a truck. I was at a dealer a few weeks ago and the salesman said that with truck prices so high people are taking their old truck to the body shop for restoration with new interior and new engine. That costs a fraction of a new truck buy. I am Canadian so I live way north of the rust belt. Next year I will find an 2004 Suburban, 2500, 6.0 with barn doors in Florida or maybe Oklahoma. I agree about the beef. I wish my lawn looked as good as your field.

You're going to be sorry you didn't change that lower steering column bearing later on, they will start to make a knock, rattle, whatever you call the noise, at some point. Had a '71 3/4 ton 4x4. Pickup was picture and mechanically perfect, 'cept that one little thing...dang if that didn't hurt in the end! Lookin good though Matt!
@MattKubik17912 жыл бұрын
I would have replaced it if I had the part. But I didn’t have one and I had to get the truck together.

@@MattKubik1791 I got ya' Matt. This one isn't going to Bat, thankfully, so all's good. I still really like what you've done with it. Seeing that big ol' radiator really brought back memories of what we used to run in these work horses to keep them cool. Pretty sure I'm jealous....
@jamesford29422 жыл бұрын
Before you even try to get the upper exhaust bolts out, use a torch to heat the ear and expand it. Remove bolt while it is red hot. If it seizes as you are removing it let the whole thing cool down and start over again. If the bolt is protruding out of the back put antisieze on it before removing.

If you haven't already, please don't drill into that nice chrome bumper, save it for something that needs a chromie. A nice "built" or just buy a metal LMC bumper for 180 or so and try to match the existing patina of the grille guard, Minty! Staying with the 12x16.5 or 12x16 tires on 9.75x16.5 or 10x16 steel wheels would really look great. Now I know I'm jealous!!!
