Join me for a crisp seasonal walk on the edge of East Cheshire and High Peak. We start from a small layby in Higher Disley, before descending into Lyme Park past Bollinhurst Reservoir. We then rise up to visit Lyme Park Cage, and descend past Lyme Hall and out of the rear of the park. A short climb through more open moorland takes us up to Bowstones before the final leg of the walk taking us below Whaley Moor and across Black Rocks.
The walk has some fantastic views across Cheshire and also up over to Kinder Scout and beyond. In total I measured it at just under 9 miles.
You can view the route on OSMaps at : osmaps.ordnanc...
If you need the OS Map is is: OS Explorer OL1 - The Dark Peak - amzn.to/2IGoyi4

Brilliant as usual. Your commentary is always great and keeps us interested. The story about Peter Lee in the Tower of London was great info. He sounded a bit of a character. Good variation between the canon and your vlogging camera. Having the huge zoom really helps on seeing wildlife and hilltops. Your walks are great to be part of. Stunning day for a hike as well by the looks of it. Keep up the stellar work sir. Stay safe and take care 👍😁👍🥾🥾

Another great looking walk, Des. Out of interest, and do excuse my ignorance, but how do you gain from more subscribers and likes? Is it of financial gain? If you’d rather not answer then I’d fully understand. Best wishes Mike

Hi Mike! Yes, it was a lovely day for it. On the like/subscribe thing....the more likes a video gets, the more YT promotes the video, so you get more views. If you get enough subscribers (1000 currently) you get a share in advertising revenue. So eventually it can help offset the cost of producing videos. Hope that answers? 👍

@@DesGreene Thanks, Des. Interesting stuff. Explains why quite a few KZbinrs are so famous and worth a few quid. But none of them are as watchable as your videos, Des. In my opinion, of course.

@@mikecrowther8131 You're very kind sir! 😁 I think the more sensational content that gets millions of views must make the channels a fair amount. Nothing more sensational than the the odd soaking or a boggy moor crossing here, though! 😁
