I have a question Dr. Yu. I understand the diffusion of O2 and CO2. I also understand the systemic/circulatory circulation. My confusion is, when alveoli and "blood vessel" are doing the O2 and CO2 exchange, which blood vessel is it? The pulmonary artery has low O2 and high CO2. The pulm vein takes back oxygen into the heart via L. Atrium and R/L pulm veins aka has high O2 and low CO2. So how did the O2 jump from vein to artery? I hope my question makes sense. We learned about arteries and veins but its confusion when we just say "blood vessel" because then it's like "which one?".

Good question! I bet other students probably have similar questions. It sounds like you may have missed the smaller blood vessels that distribute blood to tissues. The blood vessels you mentioned, like the pulmonary artery and the pulmonary veins are very large blood vessels. Because of their size, they can't really get into all the tissues/cells to delivery O2/nutrients and pick up CO2/wastes. Also their walls are too thick for gases and other molecules to move through. So what happens is that these blood vessels will branch off and form smaller vessels until the vessels are small enough to go deep into the tissues and the walls are thin enough for substances to cross. For instance, arterioles and venules are the smaller versions of arteries and veins. But the smallest blood vessels are called capillaries and that's where material exchange occurs. (1) In the systemic circulation, the aorta (the largest artery that transports blood from the L. ventricle to the body) will keep branching off after it leaves the heart. Eventually you will have tiny blood vessels capillaries that go deep into the tissues and perform gas exchange/nutrient waste exchange. So there's not a specific blood vessel where O2/CO2 exchange occurs because it occurs pretty much everywhere in your body in these hundreds of thousands of tiny capillaries. (2) In the pulmonary circulation, it's similar that the tiny capillaries surrounding the alveoli are where gas exchange happens. So again, to answer your question, when it comes to gas exchange at alveoli and other parts of the body, there's not a specific blood vessel, it's a group of very small capiliaries where gas and other materials are exchanged between the blood and the tissue. In the "Alveoli" section, the picture had the 2 blood vessels labeled "pulm artery" and "pulm vein" and so I got confused (with the jumping blood vessel conundrum I mentioned in my original comment).
