Their albums are not just albums, just as Suga said: "You really have to listen to the first song until the end, in order to understand the whole story of the album" -Suga

each time I hear a usa media "journalist" mentioned about the language barrier for BTS success in America piss me off, I come from a Latin American country where we speak spanish but we do have american companies, consume american music in other language that is not ours but we learn the meaning of the songs, the lyrics, we learn english and work with american companies ( like in my case) but I don't know...it seems the mind of some americans is so narrow minded that their "american proud" don't allow them to accept anything else than their music and language in the music industry ...obviously not all are the same thanks God ( there is still nice people ofc) and this is why BTS is having a well deserved success but is been hard and still is for the guys, step by step we are broken barriers and records with the guys... thanks LC and Fredo for this nice reaction.

I completely agree! I am born and raised in the US, and especially growing up in California I was exposed to the Spanish language just as much as I was English. I've also lived in 5 states across the country and I came across Spanish radio stations in each one. So this idea that Americans won't be able to connect with an artist simply because they speak Korean is absolute bs. I've also been a fan of metal music for 20 years now and there have been plenty of songs that I couldn't understand because they're screaming half the time lol What did I do? READ the lyrics, what a novel idea 🤣 Much love to all ARMY 💜💜💜
@Kharys1003 жыл бұрын
@@OhSleeper0287 Exactly but it seems for some americans they don't want to make the effort that we do and look for translations, the meaning of it...on the other hand make me laugh that you said you hear metal music and they just scream and you didn't understand what they were saying but you look for the lyrics 😆 that's what we have to do if we don't understand the message or meaning of a song but some people apparently don't understand it.

language barrier does exist and it's something we can't completely erased from life. but what's annoying is that people would literally put zero effort to understand something, in this case bts' music/content that's actually easy to access with eng sub. while they keep their ignorant a s s in the dark, they continue to sht on the boys lol ... that's where the problem is :")
@Kharys1003 жыл бұрын
@@el-dawn @el 100% agree with you, they just don't want to make the damn effort to understand BTS music and the meaning of it but also they attack the boys from their total ignorance...is sad, mean other countries consume american music and products it seems that americans can't and don't want to do the same with other cultures...

XCeleste has a really well done documentary on Army. I can recommend it since I was 1st a fan in 1956 and bought Elvis’s Heartbreak Hotel with my own money. To put things mildly, girl fans are looked down on by Everybody, including, frequently, the group or artist you are following. BTS has been a real revelation - fans are necessary! KPOP recognizes and respects the symbiotic relationship. Wow! What a concept. It has taken me a loong time to find it recognized.
@kayingthao50722 жыл бұрын
Wow I never knew that girl fans were looked down in by even the bands in the past. Very eye opening post. When boys are fans of a sport team Its not looked down upon. Yes fans are necessary and should be appreciated!

The shortest album you could do a full listen to is probably BE, their album from Nov 2020. It was entirely written during the Pandemic so the theme of the album follows from the initial feelings, becoming accustomed to the "new normal" and dealing with it, to finding hope for the future. Also, Map of the Soul 7 is based on Carl Jung's theories of the three aspects of self, Person, Shadow, and Ego.

@ Higher Faculty, BTS had the most struggling journey even before they debuted they came from a very small company that was going bankrupt BTS literally saved their company and look at them now! BTS was not even recognized by award shows or the television competition shows until about 2015 until they started really reflect on the charts and won their television competition show for the first time ! what really hurt me when I started my journey with BTS so much disrespect and we’re not talking about just in America or other parts of world , but it started off in their own country from the time that the underground rappers at the podcast radio show that RM & Suga was invited to and one of the rappers B-Free as well as the other underground rappers, making disrespectful remarks and ridiculing the two rappers of BTS,” saying that they were sellouts because they joined a K-pop company to become K-pop idols, that they once were the underground rappers Who were respected ! That they wear make up to go on stage and are Comparison to girls, how they dressed and their clothes are not hip-hop they’re not considered rappers anymore they were so disrespected and treated but the boys compose themselves and humble themselves and were very quiet they talked in a good calm voice through the whole interview until finally it was ended by the host because there was a lot of tweets that were going down from not just BTS ARMY but from outsiders who don’t even know BTS about the disrespectful Behavior that the other rappers remarked on the podcast! There’s an updated version of XCeleste of BTS legends to nobody’s and their hardships for 2021, I mean I don’t know if you guys ever got any death threats I know that you are sympathizing their underdog hardships and difficulties with your own but have you guys ever gotten death threats some of the members did while they were on tour in America! I was at one of the concerts when that happened and that was in New York believe me it was heartbreaking because they had to stop even before the performance started because of the death threats they had police there they had security there it was insane! why would people have to do this kind of thing BTS are in the world to spread joy ,knowledge ,respect for one’s self and for others it doesn’t matter where you come from! music is universal and I can’t realize even in my lifetime that people have been restored have been literally saved by BTS’s music I’ve seen countless of people who are ARMY that give their story how BTS help them through their struggles in life and it doesn’t matter what age what race what sexual orientation you are BTS have represented something good in this world ! There’s always going to be somebody there to hate you and to tear you down! BTS says to love yourself to love others to respect others BTS Music brings hope in the world and the journey has always been wonderful to go through every time I see a KZbin channel do BTS content I just smile 😊 I remember when I first started eight years ago with BTS , they changed my outlook in life ! Love from ARMY💜✌️BoraHae!💜

They absolutely have an inspiring story. About how they are perceived, or treated in the western society, US, UK... I only want to comment on one think, the comment I heard many times about the language barrier, how it's not played on the radio because we can't understand the lirics, or people don't listen to it because ot that.. But I never heard this problem for all this years, decades that English music is played all around the world, not English speakers...
