This is a long one, but it’s more a venting/expression of a hard trip off a small dose. I did one gram of some APE’s with my brothers and I burned some grass before (a little more than 1/2 an eighth). I live far from home and don’t see family more than a few times annually. Upon eating them, I never left the anxiety/nausea stage. It was almost like I was high, but I wasn’t high enough to feel the euphoria part of shrooms. I was in a zone of purgatory. My visuals weren’t intense, but the feelings were overwhelming. I laid down in the wet grass on a winter night that fell close to freezing. I stared at the stars for hours, or at least it felt that way. In actuality, only ten minutes had passed before my brothers came and peeled me away from my new reality. They were in that euphoric state, which only made me feel cast out. Because I don’t see them often, I felt that they were connected and I was only an onlooker. Walking through the neighborhood I grew up in felt like a journey. It wasn’t an easy one. A ten minute walk down the road felt like multiple lifetimes. I relived some of the darkest times of my life. It was never going to end. I was stuck like this. Something awful was coming and I knew it, except it never did. I began to come down a few hours later, I even got to enjoy the last hour or so of the trip. I wouldn’t call it a bad trip, but it was a hard one. Since then, I haven’t got it all figured out, but I’ve made progress. Down 65 lbs, created a deeper connection with my girlfriend and have emphasized making progress when I feel like I’m stuck. The shrooms taught me that I was never stuck, it only felt that way when life slowed down. This journey was years ago, but I carry that lesson with me today.

The highest I ever been is a bit hard to think of. I’m not counting the time I took six edibles. That’s greening out. I was out of it. I think the time I got very high was at my cousin’s birthday. Her and her friends took me on “the walk”. We hung out at this play area near her apartment. We fired up one and got very baked. The scariest parts were crossing the street, walking up the stairs, and not getting caught. Two out of three tasks completed. When my cousin’s friends and I got back inside and to her room, my mom pulled her over and gave her a chat. My cousin came in, saying “Your mom knows.” I was a bit scared, but I was too busy laughing at my cousin’s friends wrestling. One mofo smacked another with a pillow, and I was dying. Then my mom passed by the room. For some reason, in a Italian accent, I said “I’m sorry, ma!” My mom was laughing and asked “Sorry for what?” She didn’t yell or ground me. For the rest of the time in the apartment, I was laying on the bathroom floor, laughing at the ceiling like an idiot. Got home, decided to draw, and as faded as I was, I was on a roll when I was drawing. Took about 3 hours, then started another one. Drew three things and sketched one before passing out.

Last weekend I drank too much beer and smoked too much. I thought I was fighting my inner demons. I don't remember seeing any actual demons but there was some kind of war in my head. The war was like a game, after each "level" I saw a flashback of my childhood. Everytime I beat the demons I saw a newer flashback and then I realized that I need to reach the present moment to escape the war.
