70 yrs old man. I lift heavy for real workouts. I'm natural. 3 region Spinal arthritis. I was 60 lbs overweight as a result in 2012. Low T at 280. Endo out me on heavy dose of Axiron gel. Worked from the 1st day. Joined a gym the next day. I also have a complete gym in my home, but hadn't used it for several years. Lost the 69 pounds, had the physique of a 30 yr old lifter. Doc took me off the Axiron due to a PSA spike. Turned out it was probably due to a heavy leg workout the day before, and sex. Endo wouldn't give me back the Axiron unless I got a closed 50 min MRI. Claustrophobic. I'd rather go back to nam. Kept lifting, took Tongkat Ali which helped. Watched your video on DHEA. Taking 100mg at night. Normally foggy in the morning with fatigue and pain. Within a couple days, a couple, I'm up & at I'm in the morning. Can't wait to hit my own gym here. Arthritis MUCH better. Mood incredible. I also take 50mg of Niacin per hour video. Started that about 10 days before the DHEA. Is the 100 mg of DHEA too much? Don't want a deadly side effect. Should I cycle it? Skip a day once in a while? Same questions with Niacin. Already have Zinc at 50mg. Magnesium Taurate too. Thank you for the serious work you put in. Mike D ( Deb is the gorgeous wife who works out too)

Zinc supplements can cause a copper deficiency. Safer to get zinc from food..."We present 3 cases of zinc-induced copper deficiency in which the diagnosis first was suggested on the basis of bone marrow examination. The first patient was a 47-year-old man with a debilitating peripheral neuropathy that had progressed during the previous 18 months, mild anemia, and severe neutropenia. The second was a 21-year-old man receiving zinc supplementation for acrodermatitis enteropathica in whom moderate normocytic anemia and neutropenia developed. The third patient was a 42-year-old man with anemia, severe neutropenia, and a peripheral neuropathy that had progressed during 8 months. The bone marrow findings in all cases suggested copper deficiency, which was confirmed by further laboratory testing and determined to be due to zinc excess." ---university of minnesota experts. umn. edu/en/publications/zinc-induced-copper-deficiency-a-report-of-three-cases-initially- (This is not the only people with copper deficiency in the world, just 3 examples)

T replacement is a classic example of pharma creating a product then creating a market through intense advertising to health care providers and consumers. Most Drs will order T levels if a patient asks about deficiency. The Dr is not likely to evaluate the underlying potential causes like diet, medicine effects, zinc and other cofactors.

Almost all men have too much iron because we have almost no ability to get rid of it unlike women The issue doesn't seem from red meat , it stems mostly from the fact that almost all grains in America are enriched with incredible levels of crappy iron ,it's actually horrible for our health Best way to get rid of it is donating blood Followed by IP6, Vitamin C and b vitamins

From "Dumping Iron " by Mangan Dumping Iron: How to Ditch This Secret Killer and Reclaim Your Health is a game-changer in health and fitness. The accumulation of excess iron in the body, a condition that affects perhaps the majority of adults, leads to much higher risk of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, obesity, brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, and shorter lifespan. Dumping Iron shows how to measure your iron levels, what the test numbers mean, and how to go about lowering iron if necessary. Humans are adapted to a low-iron environment, so once iron is in our bodies, it virtually never goes away. Our new, high-iron environment leads to iron accumulation, and to ill health and early death. Iron is the secret killer that no one is telling you about. Finally, in Dumping Iron, the scientific and medical data that indicts iron is assembled in one place.

From " exposing the hidden dangers of iron" The danger is that, once absorbed, iron can only be excreted in minute amounts of less than one milligram a day (or by heavy blood loss), and excess iron collects in a person's vital organs, thus, setting the disease process under way. As organs literally rust away, patients can experience early death by heart attack, arthritis, liver, pancreatic and colon cancer, increased infections, cirrhosis, diabetes, neurological problems, loss of hearing, tinnitus, depression, impotence, and infertility. Scientists have now discovered a connection to iron impropriety and Alzheimer's, early onset Parkinson's, Huntington's, attention deficit disorder, and epilepsy. EXPOSING THE HIDDEN DANGERS OF IRON is an excellent introduction for medical professionals to the intricacies of iron in the various body systems.

Should a copper supplementation be added also, since high zinc intake can inhibit copper absorption?
@offensivearch
@offensivearch Жыл бұрын
My experience with copper supplementation alongside zinc has been very negative, but YMMV. Copper supplements, within about three days, start making me irritable and angry. I think a lot of people just recommend it whether people need copper or not (it's not hard to get copper from vegetables, egg yolks, etc). Zinc is harder to get, especially without meat and seafood.
@stephenkling9976
@stephenkling9976 Жыл бұрын
You can but once you get more than 25 miligrams of zinc it will block copper absorption.... "When exposed to excess dietary zinc, the absorptive duodenal cells upregulate metallothionein, an intracellular metal-binding ligand. Increased oral copper intake is ineffective in restoring the zinc-copper balance in the presence of excess dietary zinc, as the induced metallothionein continues to intercept the copper and reduce its absorption.This explains why our patient, despite taking twice the RDA of copper, became copper-deficient over time. Since ceruloplasmin, the main copper metalloprotein in the blood, is produced by the incorporation of cupric ions into a protein moiety, copper deficiency also results in reduced production and therefore a reduced serum concentration of ceruloplasmin". --cmaj .ca

I found zinc supplements seem to aid my recovery after intense workouts. I think the anti-prolactin effects of zinc can be beneficial too. I've found that, excessive rumination, weariness, and other particular symptoms can be a good sign that consuming some zinc is a good idea. Identifying that state is kind of subjective, but at this point I'm well trained at identifying it. Usually when I'm in that state (rarely) zinc brings relief.

I am pretty sure that the redness of the soil in southwest states, Utah and Colorado are caused by iron not copper. When you say you think a ribeye has about 5 mg of zinc we need to specify how many ounces of meat one is eating. All during COVID taking extra zinc (22 mg./day) was part of my formula for protecting myself. But I've read that more than 10 mg ./ day is not healthy. So I've reduced my zinc. I'm a bit confused by the "10mg/day" is unhealthy when in the study at @2:50 seconds into this video, it says for poor-functioning testes, they diagnosis 220mg of Zinc Sulfate -- equivalent to 50mg of elemental zinc. That's "5x" what your unhealthy-level was in terms of elemental and 22x in terms of sulfate. I'm wondering where you heard that information and was the source reliable? People say if you take a lot of Zinc, you just need like 1mg of copper to balance it out, ratio wise. Something like 25 to 50:1 in supplementation of zinc-copper.

Now I take 40 mg of zinc sulfate with quercetin, because of the Plandemic, I’m 66 years old. I wake up in the night with erections. It’s weird. Yeah I can’t carry on like I used to as a teenager. I'm moderately younger than you in my 40s and I sometimes take Zinc/Querctin too. When I go off it, my weight loss/muscle gain seems to stop..... I think I'm only taking 50mg or something once every 2nd day. I'm not the most regular at remembering. I find it interesting this study said 220mg a day. That's.....like 4.5x what I've been taking, twice as often. I wonder if I took that much, what I'd experience? Honestly, I've never felt that....hmmm masculine? sex-driven? macho? machismo? haha. So I've always wondered if my T levels were a bit lower than they "ought" to be. Turkesterone is bunk. Shook my head hard when Derek promoted the stuff, as I'd subscribed at 30k due to him being the first guy I saw on youtube who truly understood the hpta and aas unlike most of the broscientists. Then he turns around and shills that placebo.

It makes sense that zinc deficiency would lower testosterone in adults and retard growth in children, when you think about what our body uses zinc for. While it is used in hundreds of enzymes, most of our body’s zinc is tied-up in muscle tissue. Because these enzymes are so important, our body will lower testosterone in an effort free-up zinc by lowering muscle mass, which decreases overall zinc demands and makes more available for enzymes. Dietary zinc is absorbed best when taken as frequent small doses. Our body can only absorb 10 mg every 4-5 hours. Lozenges sold for cold and flu are the perfect dose (Walmart Equate brand are by far the cheapest). Zinc carnosine is typically dosed right as well, plus it’s easy on the stomach for people with that issue. Ketoconazole shampoo absolutely stops my hairloss, by treating seborrheic dermatitis (if you have dandruff or any scalp buildup at all, this can completely stop hairloss). The only issue with this shampoo is that you need to cycle it with other medicated shampoos (one is actually Zinc!) or it stops working. This is a common issue for people with seborrheic dermatitis (lots of great info on the subreddit for this topic). Prewashing with vinegar (4 parts shampoo to 1 part vinegar) will also allow the medicated shampoo to work better, by destroying the biofilm that causes resistance to the active ingredient.

There is a psychologist I like listening to on KZbin that got me into taking zinc since it (and magnesium) is typically critically deficient in those who have clinical depression and especially those who go through traumatic events and even moreso for those who don't eat enough meat. He typically suggests 45mg a day, but I can't find any less than 50mg, plus I get a little more through a multivitamin that also contains a small amount of copper. I haven't felt the need to take an anti-depressant ever since I started supplementing. As for Testosterone specifically, I've been taking Ashwagandha to pretty good effect I believe. I originally heard that it helps reduce inflammation down there in addition to boosting testosterone and is very common in Arab countries where the men will take it just so they can keep up with the needs of their harem.

I started loosing my facial hair and hair on my chest and lost my morning erections as well. My testosterone levels dropped to a very low level as I'm a lawyer and my profession is very stressful. So it's been a month or so I started consuming Vitamin D, Ashwagandha, folic acid, zinc, L Arginine, L carnitine, Vitamin E and Coq10. Miracles is happening now as now my facial hair aren't falling.

I have not lost facial hair but live a high stress life. My t-levels were never really high (in my 30s my levels were around 345 ng/dl) and at 45 really feel drained and my levels at 262 ng/dl let me know that my levels are far from optimal. This is after I have tried all natural supplements from Tong Kat Ali, Ashwaganda, Shilajit, Magnesium, Vitamin-D, D-Aspartic Acid, Zinc and you name it. I am interested to know if your level increases with your regimen of supplements.
