I hate that they never show penalty kicks or the result of a yellow or red card. They will show the card being issues and that's it. Rarely show disallowed/held up tries too

keesya7 I'm not, the dude is hella talented. He's had a better year in super rugby than Beuden Barrett. Chiefs over achieved the whole year. For every one intercept pass he throws, he breaks the line about four times. He's the best #10 in our country in my opinion, even though he's still better suited at 15

This so called format need to be reviewed... like it or not it does disadvantage the Kiwi teams... there is no doubt these teams are better. You have a situation where Kiwi teams, almost all deserve to be in quarter finals and in better position but the format dictate that the other conferences have their "winners" in there. This has been like this almost since this format was introduced... Kiwi teams prove times n times again they are simply great. Put every one in the conference and let them play each other as they do and classify accordingly... you will have Kiwi team from position one to five so be it... they are just great.

While I agree that the format could use a tweak, I am happy that it has changed from what it was. It used to be completely biased against the South African teams who were the only teams who had to travel for 5 weeks in one go, often crossing the Tasman a couple of times in one "tour". It was only when the Brumbies were forced to do that (and it completely fucked their season) that the changes were made.

(I'm from SA) and you'd get decent crowds now adays people don't even mention super rugby, this is probably due to the mess back when they added too many sub-par teams to the comp, because the thing is super rugby is still very entertaining if not the most entertaining club rugby to watch.

I used to work for Westpac Stadium for a few seasons around 2014-2017 and the stadium and Wellington Rugby are hopeless at enticing people. lucky the canes were bloody good 15&16 they pulled crowds but only for semis and finals

Hamish Goodley yeah as someone who was at the game, we couldn’t figure out why the TMO took so long to check and recheck the footage. If it was that hard to tell, there probably wasn’t much to it.

It was pretty marginal so you could argue that if there's uncertainty then you stick with the on field call which was no try.

Joshua Hodson listening to the game last night, it appeared/sounded like that during live play Jackson wasn't too sure if it was a try or not. After looking at the footage, he didn't think it was, but the tmo had also informed him that there was no clear evidence as to why he couldn't, which is why I think he changed his mind. So it could have gone either way.

Jaguares had a very bad start into the season, a very good phase in the middle an lost against Bulls and Sharks last 2 games.... doubtful if they can return to their strength of the mid-season. also Chiefs gained 11 points more than Jaguares, although they played in the way stronger NZ-division.... Just my opinion.... We'll see.

Chiefs deserve to be in a semi-final, but they are definitely not better than the Lions, that I can assure you! Lions will make their third final in a row, only to lose against the Crusaders in Christchurch. But the Chiefs are definitely better than the Waratahs, Highlanders, Jaquares and Sharks.

after watching this game and thousands in the past,there are no surprises, its the same formula i.e 2 teams play, referee interprets wrongly or rightly the rules, one team wins they go through the loser goes home. The great thing about this sport and every other one is that as much as they try to play by the rules, nature and luck don't play by those same rules. Nothing is perfect and rugby while great, it is far from perfect. I can go on and on about the officiating but the man/ woman in the middle is only human and like the players they too will make mistakes, therefore enjoy rugby while you can. I love this game. Warratahs vs Crusaders final methinks.

There needs to be a review of this conference group thing... can you imagine the coach telling the team... "You played well, um we lost tonight but I'm proud of you all. We just needed to win tonight so we can play the Crusaders in the semi final". Enough said. In rugby if you have the points to make it to the top eight, that's what happens. Whatever happens 4 out of 5 NZ teams once again make the 'top 8' yet the Blues have the most exciting talent base in the rugby world. Go figure.

Sorry but I think you got me wrong, I encourage rugby to be spread across the world like the bible, however if you have conference winners have less points than deserving teams that fight for their place? Shouldn't they review how all eight teams make it to the quarter finals.. For example, top conference winners get to go thru, but depending on their points during the season they may or may not get a home quarter final etc... not being a bitch, just realistic.

When I think about the British Lions forward play and their ability to get over the gain line I think that the forward play of NZ teams is shite in comparison perhaps bar the Crusaders. Even the rush defense compared to the Lions and Ireland is slow and ragged. I thought the game was poor - error ridden and no game plan on either side and thought the Hurricanes were lucky to win and can only thank the ref, poor Chef lineout throw ins and a poor DM pass for a win.

There were better TMOs watching all over the world to see the knock-on which Perenara knew as you can see on his face almost breaking into a sobbing cry...hi hi hi.
