If your MP went around knocking once a week from 9-5, they’d have to knock on 11-15 houses per hour to knock on every door per election cycle (5 years), depending on where you live. 8 hours /day* 52 days/year * 5 years/cycle * 2.4 people/house * 15 houses/hour = 74 880 people/cycle They could be doing a whole lot more work, but house visits don’t seem to me like a good use of their time

Yep...I think a re-vamp of the whole parliamentary set-up is needed. The adversarial layout is surely helping to promote this shallow theatre...it seems centuries out of date now! And the role of the speaker surely needs to be re-assessed....his job description is focusing on such strange things. When the farmyard noises start up, Hoyle is the same week after week. A more progressive and modern approach is surely the way forward...including scrapping the House of Lords.
