Poker on the other hand is not completely solved, plays with your emotions since you play with real money, requires hours of study similar to chess, and long sessions require endurance of focus similar to chess. I think you can consider poker a sport. Luck is also not a determining factor to becoming pro.

The Polk stuff really convinced me of his depth of character. It takes a lot to get beaten like that, schooled so comprehensively, come back and say "okay, I was wrong, how can I learn from this and get better", especially with a reputation as big as his. Not a losing streak just not taking first he made final table in like 35% of his events just couldn't close them out coming in second or third a ton of times. Making money that whole time.
