We learned this hard lesson from Prohibition, the government cannot prevent the use of addictive substances through legislation. The market for farm workers is in the hundreds of thousands, we don't need millions of them. There are few types of farming that require large numbers of laborers these days, it's mostly machines on all but the smallest farms. This thing about increasing the visas was maybe valid in the 80's, but it hasn't applied for more than 20 years.

Please do not blame the drug use on bad parenting. Kids are individuals and you can not make them not do something just because you tell them it is wrong. Kids will do what they want, unless you lock them up. You can provide the best example you can, but if they are a bad apple they will go around you and do it anyway. Some kids require almost no shaming to get them to walk the line, they are good kids and there are bad kids, that will not listen to you and will do what they want to do. If your kids are listening to you and are good kids, YOU ARE BLESSED! I know of kids that had terrible parents, and they turned out very well despite their parents not being there for them and being a bad example, and I know of good parents that had bad apples and good ones. I am 69 and I speak from experience.

On the issue of Mexico and the border, I think the way to curb the crisis is to help these countries like Mexico and the Caribbean develop their tourism industry so that their people will have jobs and not be dependent on the U.S and Europe to give them handouts. Help them develop agriculture and trade with them for those delicious and unique fruits and vegetables. If people have jobs, they won’t be a need to flee their countries.

I like Bill, and he does understand a lot of what is going on, but I do disagree to some extent. I agree that this past election was a major defeat for the democrats. I don't agree to the extent that he seems to. It was broad victory, but not it doesn't really look like a very deep victory. As bad as the democrat's side was almost half of the voters still voted for Kamala. That is nothing for the Republicans to celebrate. It was narrow enough victory still to be very afraid for our nation's future.
