I want to say how wonderful it is to see these young men and women putting up such strong effort to use science to solve challenges that affect all of us. I'm sure we'll see some great scientists coming out of this lot in the decades ahead.

Everyone of us in the sciences learned some of our earliest presentation skills at events just like this. Congratulations to all these bright young people. They always give me hope for all our futures. A lot of presentations at seminars and symposiums, for all but the superstar presenters, are often not much more than this for an average scientist.
