They thought that about loony Liz Truss too. That went well.Not. She does not get any better. Still hopeless. She quotes Tory institutions like the CBI, for support. Really. What else are they going to say? She has just announced a policy of massive tax cuts for the rich, without any explanation of where the money will come from. Same old, same old from the Tories. Loony Lizz mark 2. Just as night follows day, the Tories look after the rich at the expense on the poor. Just like a leopard cannot change it's spots.

They're [businesses] not cutting jobs because of the budget. They're cutting jobs to boost profit margins which will yield higher dividend payouts for shareholders which will bolster further investment from said shareholders. That is just the way businesses work. Higher profits is always the main aim above all else. Businesses will run at a bare minimum if it means they can get by and still yield a higher profit.

She has to stop saying 'the system is broken'. I don't know whether she desperately clutches at straws bc of lack of self awareness or bc she's searching for an angle from which to attack. Maybe both. She needs to take a leaf out of the Republicans book and change the playing field (by changing the party), until then the cat will toy with the mouse unchallenged

@Discombobulate453Ай бұрын
Both of them are pretty awful to be honest. Badenoch is just unskilled in being a worthy political opponent, and Starmer (along with his cabinet) have managed to destroy any shred of credibility that the Labour Party had left and has done more damage than Corbyn would have ever done. Starmer has basically turned into Sunak. Rather than answering questions, he’s just throwing jibes at the opposition. How are these two the most influential parties in the country? I didn’t vote Reform, but I can definitely see why younger people are being swayed towards them.

That is probably the worst LOTO performance I've ever seen. The first question by Badenoch was actually good, probing a fairly rash soundbite by Reeves about not putting up taxes again. I'm sure that was prepared. After that, she was all over the place, and pretty dishonest. The budget may have reduced the number of people who would be hired, but it hasn't led to jobs being cut. The OBR sees massive employment growth overall.

It is a high time to raise the bars for visa extensions and permanent residency. The salary band should be increased for both skilled workers and NHS workers to get rid of many unnecessary immigrants and to bring down the net immigration significantly. The government should reconsider the graduate visa route.
